Calling all Star Wars fans — you can climb aboard Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland through Halloween!

The Star Wars overlay, Hyperspace Mountain was added at Space Mountain to celebrate May the Fourth and in anticipation of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening on May 31. It was later announced it would stick around for the summer. And now, it’s been announced that Hyperspace Mountain will remain through the Halloween season due to its insane popularity.

This sadly means the Ghost Galaxy Overlay will not be happening this year. Ghost Galaxy is a very spooky and very popular rendition of the attraction that is essentially pitch black — except for the evil fire demon of course. Typically Ghost Galaxy runs through Disneyland’s Halloween season.
In the Hyperspace Mountain version, riders will see many of their favorite Star Wars Starships, such as TIE Fighters and X-Wings, zoom around them as they battle an interstellar demon. With this newest extension, you can fly on Hyperspace Mountain through October 31.

So excited! We’re taking our first family vacation to Disneyland this October and are Star Wars fans. We’ve never experienced HM or GG but I watched videos and clearly HM is much better! I was so bummed that we were going to get GG instead, so when the news came out I was ecstatic! Can’t wait!
I hope the rumors are true that Hyperspace will be coming to Disney World after Galaxies Edge opens! I also hope some of the Halloween overlays of other rides will be coming to Disney World.
