We spotted this sign at the entrance.
There were lots of Mardi Gras themed statues and displays throughout the park, like this guy!
The lamp posts even had Mardi Gras hats on!
Here’s another statue we spotted in the park.
There is a very floral Mardi Gras display!
Those are some of the decorations we spotted today!
Food
All around the park, there are Mardi Gras-themed food kiosks put up specifically for the occasion. Here, you can enjoy some delicious (and festive!) flavors with unique treats that you won’t be able to get any other time of the year.

Entertainment
But it wouldn’t be a REAL party without some awesome entertainment! For starters, you can find street performers and stilt walkers during the daytime.
Here are some more stilt walkers!
They also had a marching band!
Guests will also get to witness the spectacular Mardi Gras Parade every day! This parade is bursting with vibrant floats and lively performers — it’s definitely a can’t miss.
Here’s another float we spotted!
This float is a giant sparkly gator!
This float was all about colorful beads!
And at night, Universal takes things up a notch! Each night of Mardi Gras, there will be a concert live on the Music Plaza Stage. Some of the biggest artists will be performing throughout the next few weeks, from Jason Derulo to Becky G to Gavin Degraw. What a lineup! We say Sugar Ray take the stage last night!
Here’s a closer look at Sugar Ray!
We can’t wait to see more Mardi Gras concerts!
We will continue to update this post as we continue to go around Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando!

In case you’re still checking comments:
My sister and I are planning a first-time trip for this winter, and I’m super excited! Priority is lower crowds, but Mardi Gras also sounds fun and exciting! Presuming MG starts Feb 4, for a first trip, would coming the week before, Sun 1/29-Wed 2/1, seeing the parks in their “normal state,” be better than the next week, Sun, 2/5-Wed 2/8? Or is MG cool enough to push us to the February dates? Do you think crowds will be bigger because of MG, or just on the concert nights? Thanks for any insight!
