There’s a lot of stuff we love about Disney+!
From the original shows like The Mandalorian, WandaVision, and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, to all of the Disney classics we’ve always loved like The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, and Tangled, the streaming service checks a lot of our boxes. One of the most recently announced Disney+ projects is a series based off of a beloved Disney Christmas franchise.
On January 14th, Disney announced that a limited series based off The Santa Clause trilogy would be coming to Disney+! Tim Allen will be reprising his role as Scott Calvin/Santa Claus, and today it was announced that Elizabeth Mitchell will also be reprising her role from the original movies, Deadline reports.
Mitchell first appeared in the franchise as Carol Calvin/Mrs. Clause in The Santa Clause 2 (2002), and played her once again in The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006).
The series will follow Scott Calvin as he debates his future as Santa Claus, and contemplates giving his children a taste of the world outside The North Pole. Production is scheduled to begin in March 2022.
Mitchell is also known for her roles in Lost, The Expanse, Outer Banks, and Once Upon a Time. Jack Burditt, the executive producer of Last Man Standing also starring Tim Allen, will executive produce alongside Allen, Kevin Hench, Richard Baker, and Rick Messina.
