As the situation with COVID-19 continues to change and develop, AllEars will be bringing you the latest relevant news that could affect a theme park visit.
If you’re planning a Disney World vacation, you might be thinking about where you can get a COVID-19 test prior to, during, or even after your trip in the case that you find yourself feeling sick in the parks or need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test for your travels.

Right now, COVID-19 tests are in high demand in general with rising infection rates in Florida. But, new U.S. legislation passed by President Biden means that you may not have to take the time waiting in line or scheduling an appointment at a local testing site as Americans can now order free at-home rapid tests beginning January 19th, 2022 — here’s how!
Though the new website to order at-home COVID-19 rapid tests was set to launch tomorrow, it has been activated a day early, meaning that you can go online and order your tests NOW.

Each household in the U.S. is able to order one set of four at-home COVID-19 tests free of charge that will be shipped within 7-12 days. The hope of the program is that people will order their tests before they begin exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 so that they can test more quickly and conveniently.

So, how exactly do you order yours? Well, all you have to do is visit COVIDtests.gov and click “Order Free At-Home Tests.”
From there, you’ll be taken to the USPS website where you will input your contact information and shipping address. Remember, there is a limit of one order per residential address (though you’ll receive 4 rapid antigen COVID-19 tests) and orders will ship free beginning in late January.

The tests that will be delivered will be rapid antigen at-home tests (not PCR tests) that can be taken anywhere, anytime. These specific tests are designed to provide you with results within 30-minutes of taking them and do not require lab drop-off.

They are suggested to be used if you begin exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms (like fever, sore throat, runny nose, or loss of taste/smell), have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 5 days, or if you are going to a gathering with people who are considered at higher risk of severe COVID-19 infection or have not been vaccinated.

The website states that they have tests “for every residential address in the U.S.” so simply check back tomorrow, January 19th, if you have any issues placing your testing kid order.
