Disney Recipe: Learn How to Decorate Your Own Mickey Cupcakes at Home!

Happy National Cupcake Day!

Cupcakes have become a staple snack throughout Disney World and over the years we’ve seen the sweet treat decorated in tons of different character designs. For example, for Halloween this year the Sanderson Sisters were made into cupcake-form and one of our favorite holiday activities became a cupcake in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. And, now you don’t have to head into Disney World to have a cupcake themed after one of the most iconic Disney characters!

Disney just shared a recipe for Mickey Mouse Cupcakes, plus it even comes with a video tutorial with his better half — Minnie Mouse! So, now you can whip up a batch of your favorite flavored cupcakes and learn how to decorate it in Disney style.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients

• Cupcakes (any flavor you like!)
• Red Icing
• Piping Bags
• Star Pastry Tip (optional)
• Round Cookies (for Mickey’s ears!)
• Small Round Yellow Candies (for Mickey’s buttons!)
• Napkins

Directions

1. First, fill up the piping bag with red buttercream icing, followed by placing the pastry tip inside and carefully cutting the tip of the bag off.
2. Then, fill the bag with red icing and get ready to begin decorating.
3. To decorate, start by icing one “ring” of buttercream icing on the cupcake.
4. Then, place two yellow “buttons” in the front of the cupcake.
5. Almost there! Use the icing bag to add 2-3 rounds of red icing on top.
6. Finally, stick two round cookies on the top of the icing to make Mickey’s ears
7. Enjoy!
