You Can Now Watch Disney+ With Friends Through Apple’s FaceTime!

Ever since it launched in 2019, Disney+ has been rapidly growing in popularity!

The theme parks even celebrated Disney+ day!

The streaming service now has millions of subscribers and may eventually outperform Netflix. So as it continues to improve and grow, we’re getting some new offerings that Apple users may be excited about!

According to Variety, Disney+ has updated its suite of Apple apps to add support for the SharePlay feature. This allows subscribers to watch Disney+ content with friends and family while connected via FaceTime video chat.

Last year, Disney+ rolled out the in-app GroupWatch feature that serves a similar purpose. GroupWatch will continue to be available to subscribers worldwide as long as they are located in the same country, but it’s capped at seven participants or four streams from the same account.

SharePlay may be a big improvement for Disney+ users who are eligible, though. SharePlay sessions can host up to 32 people and each participant can select audio and subtitles in the language of their choice. In order to use SharePlay, all guests in the FaceTime call must have devices running tvOS 15.1, iOS 15.1, or iPadOS 15.1 or later.
