NEWS: ‘Black Panther’ Sequel Production on Hiatus Through 2021

2022 is looking like it could be a big year for Marvel, with lots of new films and series releasing.

One of the most anticipated Marvel films of 2022 is the sequel to Black Panther, which started production in June. Today an official production hiatus began, and here’s what we know.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has officially begun a production hiatus that will last through the remainder of 2021, as reported by Deadline. Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, reportedly fractured her shoulder and suffered a concussion on set back in August, and she needs more time to recuperate.

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, sent a note thanking the cast and crew and confirming that production is currently on schedule to resume in January 2022. Feige noted, “there’s only so much we can do without Shuri!

While Wakanda Forever was originally scheduled for its 2022 release on July 8th, it’s since been rescheduled for November 11th. We’ll be watching closely for more updates on the production of this Marvel sequel! Keep reading AllEars for more Disney and Marvel news!
