NEWS: ‘How I Met Your Mother’ Spin-Off Series Coming Soon To Hulu

There are a lot of new shows in the works for The Walt Disney Company right now.

Between all the new Marvel series (including WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Star Wars series (like The Mandalorian), and other original content on Disney+, the newest Disney streaming service has been getting a lot of attention. But, there is a new show that will be coming to another Disney-owned streaming service — Hulu. And, this one will likely have a lot of TV fans excited.

It’s been seven years since the final episode of How I Met Your Mother aired, and, according to Deadline, the creators are back in action to bring fans a new spin-off show coming to Hulu — How I Met Your Father.

The idea for the show has been in the works since 2014, but it has finally been picked up by Hulu to make the project come to fruition.

Starring Hilary Duff, the series will follow the story of Sophie as she tells her son about how she came to meet his father. The story will start in the present day (2021) as Sophie and her friends navigate the many experiences of growing into adulthood and dating apps.

Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger (creators of How I Met Your Mother) will return as writers and executive producers and Duff will also serve as a producer during the initial ten-episode run.
