And, this week might have some of the biggest reveals and surprises we’ve seen so far!

Thanks to the AllEars Marvel fans, SyFy, and BuzzFeed, we’re giving you a look at the biggest WandaVision Easter eggs we found in episode 5!

Warning: Spoilers Ahead

Endgame Could Have Hinted at WandaVision

Paul Bettany, who plays Vision, stated that Endgame‘s sequence after the end credits were originally supposed to lead into WandaVision. In an interview with IMDB, he noted that the scene would have shown Wanda looking for Vision’s body.

He said, “At one point there was going to be a tag, where [Wanda] opened a sort of body bag drawer and there was the Vision. [Marvel Studios’] Kevin [Feige] kind of talked to me and said, ‘I’ve got to pull the shots.’ And I was like, ‘Ugh!’ Because I really wanted that profit participation!”

All the 80s References You Could Want

Throughout episode 5, numerous references to 80s TV shows were made. Now that the characters and atmosphere are jumping forward in time, Wanda and Vision’s house looks like the Keatons’ house from Family Ties.

The opening credits combine a whole bunch of series in one with nods to the paintbrush using red as the first color to paint the family portrait, like Family Ties

…before they zoom into each character’s portrait like the 80s sit-com did for the cast members.

Growing Pains also receives a nod as there are photos of the cast members growing up.

It’s not a surprise that WandaVision would reference Full House, since Wanda is played by Elizabeth Olsen (sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen who played Michelle Tanner on the show). The picnic outside during the opening credits is a nod to those from Full House.

The end credits, though, show the same font from Growing Pains (y’know, before the whole show gets shaken up in the final moments of the episode).

Wanda’s Lagos Disaster

The commercial for this episode references when Wanda accidentally destroyed an entire building full of innocent civilians in Captain America: Civil War in Lagos, Nigeria. The tagline for Lagos paper towels is “For when you make a mess you didn’t mean to,” because Wanda’s accident led to the entire issue of the Sokovia Accords.

And, Jimmy Woo importantly notes in the episode that Wanda body-snatching Vision is a direct violation of the Sokovia Accords. The Lagos commercial even shows the mother cleaning up red juice that stains her hands, almost like the blood that is on Wanda’s hands after what happened in Lagos.

Billy and Tommy’s Comic Book Nod

As Billy and Tommy continue to grow up, each of the boys was wearing their signature colors from the comic books (and they look pretty stinkin’ adorable while doing it).

Sparky the Dog

After Billy and Tommy find Sparky the Dog in episode 5, they beg Wanda if they can keep him as their new family pet. However, Vision actually creates a green dog named Sparky in the comics for the boys. After he dies in the episode, the boys beg their mom to revive him. But, Tony Stark is actually the one who brings Sparky back to life in the comics!

“Scarlet Witch” Has Never Been Used in the MCU

When Tyler Hayward asks Jimmy Woo about a possible alias or superhero name for Wanda, Woo responds that she doesn’t have one. While we know that Wanda Maximoff is known as “Scarlet Witch” in the comics, the name hasn’t been mentioned in the MCU at this point.

Monica MIGHT Be Getting Powers

We can’t help but wonder how being in a mind-controlling alternate reality affects a person. But, Monica Rambeau’s recent MRI tests through S.W.O.R.D. might give us a few clues! Since she was hit with Wanda’s powers, she could also now be getting a few of her own.

In the comics, Monica eventually uses Photon and Captain Marvel as her superhero aliases when she develops powers from extradimensional energy. Hmmm, anybody else thinking that this could play into a second Captain Marvel film?

Fantastic Four References

Even though WandaVision makes a BIG reference to films that have previously been outside the MCU at the end of this episode (read on for details!), there’s another series mentioned quickly during WandaVision this week. Monica states that she knows an aerospace engineer who can help S.W.O.R.D, referencing Reed Richards from Fantastic Four.

Marvel does currently have a rebooted Fantastic Four series in the works, so this could be a hint of what’s to come in the next phase of MCU films!

More Support for the Agatha Harkness Theory

At this time, Agnes is the only WestView resident who hasn’t been identified by the personnel at S.W.O.R.D. That could be due to the fact that Agnes is actually the witch, Agatha Harkness.

©Marvel

Agnes herself even hints at this when she calls herself that “Aunty Agnes” during episode 5, hinting at the nickname “Aunt Agatha” that Agatha Harkness uses in the comics. When Clint Barton eventually finds Wanda, she states that she has been under the care of “Aunt Agatha” in the comics as well. Agnes even possibly reveals that she is a witch in this episode, when she says she has a few “tricks” up her sleeve.

And, Agnes has revealed multiple times that she knows that this is an alternate reality up until this point. But, she BLATANTLY allows Wanda in on the (not-so) secret by asking if she should take the scene from the top when Vision messes things up by accident.

Is Ralph Actually Mephisto?

We’ve already mentioned that WandaVision has been hinting at an appearance from Mephisto. And, Agnes just happens to reference her husband “Ralph” (who could very likely be Mephisto) when she is taking care of Billy and Tommy. In the comics, Mephisto helps create Wanda’s twins by giving them pieces of his soul.

The Whole Quicksilver Deal

The ending of episode 5 was a MASSIVE surprise to all of us when Quicksilver shows up… but not in the way we thought he would. Previously, Pietro was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the previous films. Yet, we know that he died, leaving Wanda reeling in grief.

©Marvel

In the X-Men films, though, Evan Peters plays Quicksilver outside of his involvement with the Avengers. Disney has stated that X-Men will actually become a part of the MCU, and this is our first hint at exactly that. And, we’re theorizing that this could be a reference to a much bigger multiverse plot!

But, you’ll have to stay tuned for our upcoming WandaVision theories AND Easter eggs for the remaining episodes of the show!
