While Disneyland might be the Happiest Place on Earth (and Disney World the Most Magical!), there are plenty of aspects in the company that help shape its operations.

Along with the recent health and safety regulations implemented in the parks, Disney will be making more huge changes to how it functions on a day-to-day basis.
The Walt Disney Company revealed earlier this year that Disney would be adding a fifth key to its set of business and company values. Previously, there were four keys that included “safety, courtesy, show, and efficiency.” However, now “inclusion” will be included in that list and park operations.

In today’s IAAPA Expo, Josh D’Amaro spoke on behalf of Disney, stating that “We believe that a truly inclusive environment is critical to fostering ideas from all people to help us grow, innovate, and create the best stories possible. Inclusion would not only serve as its own key, but it will be incorporated into all the other four keys.”

He continued on, referencing Disney’s employees by stating, “We intend for every single Cast Member around the world to know these keys, and what they stand for, and pass them along to each new generation of Cast Members for years to come. This represents transformative cultural change.”

Disney will also be deepening its commitment to historically black colleges in universities to open up more opportunities to diverse Cast Members in its parks and experiences, as well as businesses and finances. While D’Amaro stated that more information would be coming about this “transformative cultural change,” we’ll be sure to update you on additional news.
