Along with the decorations across the parks, Disney has continued to make changes to the way things are operating currently!

From continuously updating the overhead announcements to including plexiglass barriers on popular attractions, Disney has continued to make modifications to benefit guests and Cast Members. And, if you plan on doing some shopping in the parks or online soon, you’re going to want to know about one of the latest updates coming next year!
The Disney Gift Card website will be getting some BIG changes at the beginning of next year! On January 19th, 2021, Disney will be deleting all current account details (including logins and gift cards added) in order to upgrade the site on the following day of January 20th.

Since the Disney Gift Card website doesn’t act as a mobile wallet, Disney recommends that guests keep their physical and digital Disney Gift Cards handy in order to make purchases. Guests will also need to make sure they have access to the full 16-digit account number and EAN on their cards in order to add them onto the updated website.

When the site goes live, the enhanced options will let guests use an existing Disney account to login, meaning the same information from places like shopDisney, My Disney Experience, the Walt Disney World website, and the Disneyland website. However, if visitors choose not to use an existing account, they will need to make a new one on January 20th in order to enter their gift card information onto the “My Cards” section of the update site.

These changes will not affect the balance on Disney Gift Cards. Guests who no longer have their physical or digital Disney Gift Cards handy, though, will need to transfer their balances to a new gift card that they do have handy. Disney recommends contacting them for further information to show proof of the original gift card purchase if guests do not have another card to transfer their balance to currently.

We’ll keep you updated with additional information about the upcoming changes coming to Disney’s operations!
