PHOTOS: We Experienced the New Security Screening Process at Disney Springs

We encountered a new security screening process on our most recent visit to Disney Springs.

Disney Springs

Since reopening, Disney Springs has had temperature check stations set up outside all of the entrances to the shopping and dining district. But now, there’s another step guests will need to pass through before entering Disney Springs!

While there have been security checks outside the Disney World theme parks for quite some time, there have not previously been any such checks to enter Disney Springs. But as of November 5th, there are now security screenings taking place in both Disney Springs parking garages.

Guests must first pass through the temperature check station, which uses contactless thermometers to verify the temperatures of each member of the party.

After passing through the temperature check, guests will then arrive at the security screening. There are signs instructing guests to keep all items in their bags and carry them through the screening point. This is similar to the new contactless security screenings we’ve seen at the parks.

If something you’re carrying triggers the sensors, security may then check your bag. When we passed through, we saw security Cast Members searching through bags that set off the sensor with their hands.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the security screening process at Disney Springs and pass along any additional updates!
