Earlier this week, we reported that another form of transportation would be returning to Disney World.

The Friendship Boats transport guests to and from Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotels, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas. And, today they have resumed operations at Disney World!
We’ve seen the boats out and about testing over the past few weeks, but they have officially started welcoming guests back!

Similar to what we’ve seen with other modes of transportation since Disney World’s reopening, the Friendship Boats have a variety of health and safety measures laid out onboard. As guests get in line to board the boats, distancing markers and hand-sanitizing stations are set in place…

…while guests are also asked to wait behind the gate until a Cast Member gives the okay to enter the Friendship Boat.

All the seats aboard the boats are available with plastic barriers put between each bench to keep guests distanced.

The outer deck of the boat at the back has seating as well, but the middle section was blocked off to distance guests during the ride.

The Friendship Boats are still running between the same stops as before with departures happening until about an hour before park closure.

As Disney World continues to re-open water transportation and other experiences around the parks and resorts, we’ll keep you updated on all of the latest details! And, if you have any questions about how your upcoming Disney World vacation may change, we’re here to help you find the answers!

Due to social distancing, were there a large number of people who had to wait for the next boat?
