Live-action movies have been Disney’s name and game recently when it comes to both theatrical and Disney+ releases.

While there has been a lean towards remakes of past animated features, Walt Disney Studios has also taken some of its most popular attractions and turned them into films. We’ve all seen franchises like Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion (with a new adaption coming soon), and the upcoming Jungle Cruise movie. But, there’s another attraction-based movie in the works that we just did not see coming!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney is in the early stages of production as the film studio moves forward with a Space Mountain-inspired movie! Joby Harold, who is the writer and executive producer on Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series, will be writing the script for the live-action, family-friendly film.

Harold will also be producing with his wife Tory Tunnell under Safehouse Pictures. Dan Lin and Jonatan Eirich, who helped to create the live-action Aladdin, are set to produce as well under their Rideback production studio.

While there aren’t too many details about the film, we are so excited to see what’s in store for the Space Mountain movie! As more details are released, we’ll give you all the information you need to know before the film hits the theaters!
