Decorations are going up at the Magic Kingdom and there will be seasonal treats aplenty! So, what about seasonal entertainment? Will there be any? Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is canceled this year so the Halloween parade and fireworks will not be displayed. However, Disney gave us some insight into the special entertainment we will see at the Magic Kingdom this Halloween!

Disney has been using Character Calvacades in lieu of meet and greets at all four parks. While the motorcades roll through, guests can wave and take selfies with the characters. Guests can also visit stationary characters while maintaining a six foot distance. Disney has announced that the Character Calvacades will feature Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and more characters dressed in their Halloween costumes! They also mentioned that Chip ‘n’ Dale will be in costume at Frontierland.

Additionally, the Disney villains will be out and about! Jack Skellington will lead a group including iconic baddies such as Jafar, Maleficent, Gaston, and the Queen of Hearts on their own cavalcade on select days at Magic Kingdom.

Here’s where you can spot EVERY character at Disney World right now!

We also got a spooky surprise when we learned that the Dapper Dans will be returning to Magic Kingdom on September 20th, decked out as their alter egos, the Cadaver Dans!

Also, everyone can wear Halloween costumes this year! Yes, work on your Toy Story group costume because guests of all ages can dress up between September 15th through October 31st. Disney’s costume policies will still be in effect so be sure to review the rules before your visit, as character masks will still not be allowed for adults! Proper face masks will also still be required of everyone during this time.

  1. We have a trip planned for the end of September. We haven’t fully committed, but have park reservations and hotel reservations. We are annual pass holders who live about 3 hours away. We are both teachers and are kind of waiting to see how school is going to be before we make our final decision.
