Have you ever wanted to deepen your knowledge of all things Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? How about learn some super cool facts and hidden secrets that are hiding in plain sight throughout the land itself?

The D23 Inside Disney podcast interviewed Scott Trowbridge, Walt Disney Imagineering’s portfolio creative executive for the Star Wars franchise. He shares tons of interesting information in the episode, including spilling a few Easter Egg secrets from Galaxy’s Edge, as well as a sneak peek and some new merchandise coming out!
Trowbridge pointed out that Galaxy’s Edge is filled with Easter Eggs, some of which aren’t fully realized until a while after it was “planted” in the land! For example, when Galaxy’s Edge first opened up in May and August of 2019, Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities included a helmet and pulse rifle inside the store.

It wasn’t until months later that fans learned the owner of that helmet and pulse rifle: the Mandalorian himself from the hit Disney+ series of the same name! Trowbridge hinted that there are more Easter Eggs like this that we will learn the importance of down the road!

Trowbridge then talked about some of the cool merchandise fans can get their hands on outside of Galaxy’s Edge! All of the merchandise is meant to deepen the story of Galaxy’s Edge and the Star Wars universe, because, as he put it, some aspects of the story are best told in the park, while others can play out better in toys, books, and video games!

First, Trowbridge talked about the upcoming Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge, a new VR experience with Oculus that will introduce fans to new parts of the Batuu’s history and characters! He then announced two new books exclusively at Target as part of the Trading Outpost collection: Star Wars Myths and Fables, and Star Wars Dark Legends. Each book will include three new stories that fans have never even heard before!

With tons of exclusive merchandise inspired by Galaxy’s Edge coming out soon, we can’t wait to do a Target run and collect them all! In the meantime, you can listen to the podcast episode on D23’s website!
