Several events in the theme park world have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, from Moonlight Magic to the Wine & Dine Half Marathon.
And now, another major event that was due to take place this summer in Florida has been canceled due to the global health crisis.
Today, President Donald Trump announced that the Republican National Convention, which was due to take place from August 24th from August 27th, will no longer take place in Jacksonville, Florida, as planned.
“I looked at my team and I said the timing for this event is not right. It’s just not right,” Trump said, according to CNN. “To have a big convention, it’s not the right time.”
The event was canceled due to a “COVID flare-up” in Florida, as cases in the state continue to pop up. If more major events in the Sunshine State are canceled, we’ll let you know and let you know how it may impact your vacation.
