J.K. Rowling is Releasing a New Children's Book — And It Will Be Available to Read Online for Free!

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you’ve likely been enjoying the latest offering from Pottermore, a new video series where stars from Harry Potter and beyond read chapters from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Well, hold onto your hats, Potterheads, because this new announcement from Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is one you’re going to want to hear!

J.K. Rowling has announced that she will be releasing her latest children’s book, The Ickabog, online for free.

Each weekday, Rowling will release one or more chapters from the book online, starting today and wrapping up on July 10th. From there, the book will be published in print in November 2020, with eBook and audiobook formats also available.

What makes this early release even more exciting is that it comes with an illustration competition! Rowling is asking children to illustrate the story, and select drawings will be chosen to end up in the final print.

Rowling has also announced that all author royalties from the published book will be given to help those affected by the current global health crisis.

The first two chapters of The Ickabog are available to read now on the book’s official website. Each weekday, more chapters will be added to the same space. We can’t wait to read along!
