The global health crisis has had a huge effect on the film industry, with movie theaters around the globe closing, forcing films to go straight to a digital release.

Additionally, Disney has made some changes to their own release schedule, with films like Mulan rescheduled from March to June, and Marvel’s Black Widow bumped to November. And now, another Disney film has gotten a pushed back release date!
Disney/Pixar’s upcoming Soul was originally scheduled to be released this June, but now is scheduled to be release in theaters on November 20th, 2020.

And Soul isn’t the only film with a pushed back release date! Raya and the Last Dragon, which was originally set for a November 25th, 2020 release, is now scheduled to come out March 12th, 2021.

Currently, major movie theater chains such as AMC are closed indefinitely as the country deals with the current health crisis, and with no definitive reopening planned, film studios are having to shuffle their plans to get these major releases out in theaters.
We will continue to keep you updated with any more film release delays that may occur.
