‘The Proud Family’ Is Getting a Disney+ Reboot!

Disney Channel was on top of the television game in the early 2000s with hits like Lizzie McGuire, That’s So Raven, and Kim Possible, but we can’t forget about the first family of Disney Channel animated sitcoms —The Proud Family!

The life and times of Penny Proud and her family ran for three seasons and a movie during its original production, and the series in its entirety became available on Disney+ on January 1st. Fans of the show have been wanting new episodes for years and Disney just announced that a reboot of The Proud Family is in the works!

According to ABC News, the new series will be called The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder and most of the original voice cast will be coming back to reprise their roles. Kyla Pratt will be lending her vocal talents to Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson is back as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker will be returning as Trudy Proud, and the best news of all, Jo Marie Payton will be back as Suga Mama!

Also returning to the series are Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby Proud. Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar are also back in the producing chair, while Calvin Brown, Jr. will co-executive produce and serve as the story editor for the show.

No release date for the new series has been announced as of yet, but we’ll keep you updated!
