One of the best things about Disney+ is you have a full collection of Disney animated classics right at your finger tips!

You’ve probably already watched beloved films such as The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, and Cinderella. But now that you’ve gotten through the obvious must-watches, what’s next?
We’ve compiled our list of the best underrated animated movies on Disney+. Maybe you haven’t seen them before, or maybe it’s been a longggg time — either way, you’re in for a real treat.
Here are the Best Animated Movies You Haven’t Watched Yet on Disney+.
Robin Hood
We love this often-forgotten twist on the legend of Robin Hood. We love it even more that he’s an adorable fox with mad archery skills.

If you haven’t watched Robin Hood yet, check it out! It’s cute, funny, and features one of the most comical villains: big baby Prince John.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Sure, it’s one of the darkest Disney animated movies, but it also has low-key one of the best Disney soundtracks. Also, it’s beautiful.

Give it another shot, trust us. But also, don’t blame us when your family members get sick of you singing along to “Out There” in the car.
The Black Cauldron
Oh you thought Hunchback was dark? The Black Cauldron makes it look like a rainbow. But it’s also one of the least watched Disney movies ever (maybe those two facts are related?).

Is it a good movie? Ehhhh — the AllEars team is heavily divided. Some people love it, others don’t. But it’s a Disney movie, and one you probably haven’t seen at that. So isn’t it worth a watch?
The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad
Another hardly watched film, this is the Legend of Sleepy Hollow as only Disney could tell it. And also, it stars J. Thaddeus Toad, and TBH, we watch anything with Mr. Toad.

Is this movie bizarre? Yes. Should you watch it? Absolutely.
Three Caballeros
You’ve probably been on Epcot’s Gran Fiesta Tour, but have you actually seen the film that inspired the ride’s current iteration?

If not, you’ve got to watch Donald, Panchito, and Jose in their feature film! It’ll make meeting Donald in a sombrero make a lot more sense.
Fantasia
As iconic as Fantasia is, we’ve found lots of Disney fans haven’t actually seen the whole thing through! And they should — it’s gorgeous and totally iconic.

At its time of release, Fantasia was considered a flop — but that’s because it wasn’t shown the way Walt envisioned it. But with re-releases and adjusting for inflation, Fantasia is still the 4th highest grossing animated film of all time. Learn more about Fantasia’s crazy history here, and then sit back and enjoy the history.
Melody Time
Once you’re done watching Fantasia, now you can enjoy Disney’s other musical compilations. We love Melody Time, specifically for the The Legend of Johnny Appleseed number. This is also where you can watch the iconic Little Toot, and Peco’s Bill — which inspired everyone’s favorite Frontierland eatery, Pecos Bill’s!

The Adventures of Andre and Wally B
This may not be a full length animated film, but it is the first Pixar short, so you should totally watch it.

Once you’re done with that, check out Luxo Jr. (yes, as in the lamp!) and Tin Toy, other early and awesome Pixar shorts!
The Great Mouse Detective
I literally haven’t seen The Great Mouse Detective since the ’90s and found myself gasping and laughing along with it like I’d never seen it before. It is so fun! Also, very scary.
Seriously though, Rattigan feeds someone who angers him to a cat. (I’m not doing a very good job of selling this, am I?) But seriously, this movie doesn’t get the credit it deserves, and Basil is super awesome.
A Bug’s Life
Probably the most underrated full-length animated Pixar film, it’s quite possible you haven’t watched A Bug’s Life since it debuted in 1998.

And you should totally give it another watch! It’s surprisingly funny and a real underrated gem.

Just watched Hunchback of Notre Dame. Play Disney Trivia with the grandkids and need to fill in the movies after mom and before them.
Make Mine Music is still not available in the US. It is the only one of the core Disney Animated Feature releases that isn’t there outside of the recent films still under other contracts.
I don’t know if it is because of the Martins & Coy’s segment (which was already cut from the DVD for its violence), or for existing contracts elsewhere. AFAIK it hasn’t gotten a bluray release, which implies it hasn’t recieved a full 4K digital master yet for the archives.
The segment was included in European releases after 2006.
