Nothing like a quiet ride down the Mississippi River on a raft, especially if in the end you get biscuits! A seasonal favorite quick-service restaurant has re-opened for the holidays.
Aunt Polly’s on Tom Sawyer Island has re-opened after being closed for a few months. This little slice of Southern cuisine is usually not open, but when it is, it’s a fun little outing to give it a try.
Aunt Polly’s has slushies, a root beer float, a brownie sundae, pretzel sticks with a variety of dipping sauces, and the oh-so-wonderful Biscuit Barbecued Pork Sliders. (Note that the menu is subject to change, so you might want to double check the menu before you go!)
These sliders are named after Tom Sawyer’s love interest in Mark Twain’s novel, Becky Thatcher. Unlike the other items on Aunt Polly’s menu, these aren’t a snack; they are a hearty meal. One the side there are house-made Cajun potato chips that have a bit of a kick and coleslaw because what Southern meal is complete without coleslaw.
Aunt Polly’s is usually open between 11AM and 3PM, so hop on a raft and treat yourself before it closes again (typically at the end of the holiday season).
