Sure, Disney prices are increasing, and it may seem like there is nothing to do at Walt Disney World that does not require opening your wallet — but that isn’t true! We found five activities that you can do in Disney that won’t cost a penny.

Come along on a frugal trip to Walt Disney World with us!
Fly in the Sky on Disney Skyliner
Talk about a free show! Disney Skyliner is the newest form of transportation at Disney World. These gondolas can hold up to ten guests and sail on their their lines at up to 11MPH.
But for many guests, it’s all about the views! You can catch a bird’s eye view of Epcot, enjoy soar over the rooftops of Caribbean Beach Resort, fly over Hourglass Lake between Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts, check out the almost-finished Riviera Resort (opening December 16), and finally, buzz by Hollywood Studios to see the Tower of Terror from a new perspective.

Take a Break and Enjoy the Music
Take a break in a comfy chair in the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa‘s lobby, and enjoy the music of The Grand Floridian Society Orchestra or the Resort’s pianist. Coupling the atmosphere of the Grand Floridian and the classical sounds of orchestral music, you might just find yourself forgetting all your worries (for free!)!

Spend a Day on the Boardwalk
Hop off the Skyliner at Epcot’s International Gateway station, and walk to the BoardWalk for some fun! You’ve got the BoardWalk Bakery tempting you with freshly baked goodness, Ample Hills Creamery with creative ice cream flavors on a hot day, midway games, a funnel cake stand, and some great dining options as well. And if you’re looking not to spend a dime, in the evenings you’ll find free live entertainment on the Boardwalk.

Relax for a Spell on the Sassagoula River
Park (for free) at Disney Springs, and take a ride on the Sassagoula River on one of Sassagoula Riverboat Co.’s boats. You can boat to either Port Orleans — Riverside or Port Orleans — French Quarter. Hop out, take a walk around the Resorts, maybe enjoy a beignet (those aren’t free), and then hop back on to Disney Springs. This relaxing activity will also get you some new peeks at the sights around the Sassagoula River, including the Saratoga Springs Treehouses!

Spend Some Time at the Animal Kingdom Lodge
Check out the animals on the Savannah, tour the lobby, learn about the decor, speak with cultural representatives, and even relax a bit. There are so many options at Animal Kingdom Lodge — let’s start with the over 800 artifacts on display at Jambo House and Kidani Village. That may rival some museums! Then there are cultural representatives on hand to share information and stories about their homes. And, oh yeah: there are over 11 acres of savanna that giraffes, impalas, gazelles, blue cranes, zebras, and more call home — and you can watch them all for free!

Parking my car at Disney Springs and then going over to the Grand Floridian and look at the Christmas Tree and gingerbread house.
We’ve always used the monorail loop as a free way to get some Disney magic. Can stop at each resort or just cruise around and look out the window or just people watch. Please stand clear if the doors!
