I was honored to meet up with two families from Texas one evening for dinner at the California Grill, Contemporary Resort. In the photo from left to right are Kathryn, Jason, Chris, Sarah, Wellborn, Whitney, Conally, Debra, and Kirby. Wellborn belongs to Kathryn and Jason and the other young folks are with Debra and Kirby. These fun folks are from southeast Texas, and Kirby and I are related!
After dinner, we strolled around the Contemporary Resort, looking for Hidden Mickeys. I pointed out the classic Mickey on the ceiling of the side elevator tower at Bay Lake Tower. The image is made of metal plates that support ceiling lights. You can spot it from the ground behind the Contemporary Resort’s main building.
My wife Vickie and I stopped in at Pop Century Resort. In the registration lobby, Vickie stands before the “Where’s the Beef” shadow box.
The last time I was at Pop Century, I didn’t find the Hidden Mickey in the Food Court ceiling lights. This Mickey image may not be reliably present. But this day, I was lucky; the classic Mickey was tucked inside one of the lights!
Vickie took a photo of me next to one of the Food Court divider wall classic Mickeys.
The Mowgli display next to the Hippy Dippy Pool was recently refurbished, and I was elated to find that the subtle classic Mickey on the wall behind Mowgli is still visible! It’s made of white circles traced in green paint, above a green leaf.
Pop Century guests often decorate their windows for fun. Here’s a cool window display:
Now that’s a nice image to admire as you’re leaving Pop Century!

At POP there is a Hidden Mickey in the children’s waiting area near the check-in desk. You can find it in the goldfish bowl painted on the wall. Its disguised as bubbles!
Last October when I stayed at the Pop Century one morning there was a hidden Mickey on the floor of the food court. Yes, I took a picture. The next day I took my friend to show her the Mickey and it was gone. It must have been done in tape and removed when the floor was cleaned!
