Time Hopping on Hollywood Blvd.

If you are on FaceBook then you are familiar with Time Hops which show a post or photo from X number of years ago you shared on the site. It got me to thinking what I might have in my Walt Disney World archives and found this photo of what was then called The Disney-MGM … Continue reading "Time Hopping on Hollywood Blvd."

This Way to Fantasmic

Disney’s Hollywood Studios (aka MGM Studios) has a large (get it?) assortment of billboards staggered throughout the park. I don’t think that it’s necessarily very Hollywood since signage on Sunset Blvd and Hollywood Blvd (in Hollywood) consists of moving imagery, flashing lights, and entire sides of buildings. Al’s Toy Barn Flashback

For my part of remembering attractions that are now closed, I turn the clock back to when Toy Story’s meet and greet was located off Streets of America. The set consisted of a facade of Al’s Toy Barn, owned by bad guy, Al McWhiggin. One can only imagine the non-stop nightmares Buzz and Woddy suffered … Continue reading "Al’s Toy Barn Flashback"

There’s no lag time between depressing the shutter button and when the image is recorded. I set my Canon EOS … Continue reading "Indiana Jones Fire Sequence"

Fish-eye Muppet Fun

Grab your point and shoot camera manuals and see if your camera can do this, fish-eye effect. Fish what? Fish-eye lenses are especially designed for SLR cameras and some high end point and shoots. Nowadays with computer programs in digital point and shoot cameras, the effect can be replicated. Just keep in mind it’s not … Continue reading "Fish-eye Muppet Fun"

Newbie and the Geek Take Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Last Wednesday I recapped our day at Magic Kingdom. The week before that was Animal Kingdom Disney’s Hollywood Studios marked our third consecutive day in a theme park. I’m certainly accustomed to back-to-back-to-back (to-back, etc..) adventures that last from morning until night but Yoli isn’t. When I advised her on preparing for the trip, I … Continue reading "Newbie and the Geek Take Disney’s Hollywood Studios"
