Review of Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (Disney Vacation Club)

Once again had our trip to Boulder Ridge. We basically love BR. Great location, love 1 br. Love the setup. quiet but close to WL / CC buildings & MK. Great room this time with view of lake. 4th floor. We are not DVC. and not owners of any kind in DVC. which gives people a different persceptive sometimes, when your invested. We stayed 2 weeks. and basically had beautiful weather and a great time all around wdw. I only had 2 things that did bother us, at all and really didn't ?? The BR pool. Which we love. It is a great setup, big, lots of room and chairs usually. First pool day was during race weekend so it was actually packed but we had room and did find 2 chairs. No problem. 2nd pool experience was way less crowded but found some very interesting guest. 1 family (maybe they are walt disney's family and own BR)? Found the the need for the 8 of them to take 2 cabana's (which are free at BR), 10 lounge chairs lining the pool side, and simaltanously taking 3 tables with umbrellas.?? For the family of 10. Then announced they where going to their camp at the WL pool so the kids could play on the other toys and kept all these chairs. There where plenty of people that had no where to sit at all. and families looking to eat at tables etc... Just really people ? No need to take everything, and make a positive experience for everyone. Of course BR had nothing to do with this. I'm not sure many people there realized this was even going on but we where located very near them. Our 2nd incident was the fire alarm at around 3am ish. Now growing up near a big city with building > you get a firealarm in the middle of the night grab keys, a jacket / blanket, shoes and run... I could not believe the slow, and totally dressed families, with hair done to stand out side.... Just felt funny cause we are serious about safety... Now WL was terrible and dropped the ball on this incident. NO ONE from the main building came out??? No managers, front desk, bellhops, ANYONE?? To check on people or if we where burning down?? A pool guy showed up to straighten out his area for work. but with kids, people, and some elderly standing for quite a while he could of had unlocked the pool area to allow people to sit. Most where standing about an hour, or sitting on sidewalk. No one came to give an all clear. finally saw 2 guys with a flashlight and they said it was a water pipe break in basement and no fire. Then a lady said her husband went in and checked was told didn't know why we where all outside and alarms still going off?? So she announced we could go back in and we did. We never got a note of anything from the resort about this. The next evening there was a message on phone of about 2 lines stating the water pipe thing only. But, I really felt some kind of staff should of been checking on people..... Rumor had been going that reedy creek fire was on there way but we never saw anyone....

Pros:

The resort itself.

Cons:

pool people emergency response could use some work

Review of Muppet Vision 3D (CLOSED)

While this attraction may just seem like your average 3D-theater, it's far from it. Before I get into the meat and potatoes of this review though, I should mention that since I visited in December 2022, this attraction has received comfier seats some the experience will be even better than in my review. To begin, the ride ignited my interest in the Muppets. My group didn't really know what to do at Hollywood Studios and somebody was like "Hey, why don't we go on Muppets to kill some time?" Nobody else had a better idea so we all walked in. Unfortunately, we missed the pre-show but I saw a video online so I can still factor that into this review. I personally think it doesn't add much to the ride, but it is entertaining to watch the construction workers work behind the scenes of the show. Once you are seated and have your glasses equipped, you are treated to a variety of 3D-effects and things occurring 360 degrees around you. It's immersive, for sure! But the BEST PART is easily walking out of the theater and hearing that bussin' exit theme song. No joke, I will and do still listen to the theme song in the background. Of course, if you don't find the Muppets at the very least entertaining, this attraction is a chance to escape from the heat since the building is air-conditioned. There's also the fact that has been said a thousand times, but this attraction was the last time Jim Henson voiced Kermit the Frog in a movie and one of the last productions he was involved with at all. All in all, I would highly recommend this, especially if you're leaving Star Tours and heading to Galaxy's Edge or vice-versa since this attraction is right on the way. Jim sure did go out with a bang.

Pros:

360-degree immersive experience, indoors and air-conditioned, comfy seats, and anybody can go on it no matter their health conditions, and an ABSOLUTELY BUSSIN' EXIT THEME SONG!

Cons:

I actually can't think of any!

This was an excellent restaurant. We visited here twice during our trip in May. The first night was a late dinner. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, heirloom apple salad, and crab cakes. They were all very good. Our server was fantastic and very attentive.

We returned on Mother’s Day for dinner. The onion soup gratin reminded me of my mothers. It was excellent. I ordered the pork shank it was very good. My wife ordered the vegetable curry with chicken and enjoyed it very much. Service was very good and attentive. Highly recommend

Pros:

Onion soup.

We dined here on 5/13/24. I ordered the chicken parm and my wife ordered the eggplant parm. The chicken was on the dry side and tasted ok. The eggplant was good. Caesar salad was excellent along with the pasta. Service was very good. This restaurant was on our list for a very long time. On the fence if we will go back.

Pros:

Caesar salad

Cons:

Chicken parm

Review of Astro Orbiter

Astro Orbiter sits in the hub of Tomorrowland, on top of Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies. Although similar to a couple of other attractions in Magic Kingdom, Astro Orbiter soars to new heights, literally. This attraction has a unique loading process which involves a pair of elevators bringing guests up to ride. When taking flight on this ride, you have a view of the park that you can't get anywhere else, but you might find that your rocket isn't too spacious. An adult and child might find the rocket to be comfortable, but if you are thinking of riding with another adult...you won't have a lot of room to work with. I I enjoy riding Astro Orbiter, but it wouldn't be my first pick of attractions in Tomorrowland.

Pros:

Provides a beautiful and unique view of Tomorrowland! (especially at night)

Cons:

It can get a little chilly way up there in the colder months! Since the loading process involves an elevator ride, the line can appear to move slower because of the stop-and-go flow of the queue.

Review of Topolino's Terrace -- Flavors of the Riviera Character Breakfast

We had never been to a character meal and to be honest were somewhat apprehensive of what would be expected of us. We didn’t need to be as the characters were really easy to interact with. The food was great and started with various pastries. My wife leans towards veganism and had the plant based wild mushroom omelette. I had the Steak and Eggs. Both were excellent. This was a great experience, which has made us determined to try further character meals.

Pros:

Characters, atmosphere, food, POG juice, location.

Cons:

Maybe price.

Review of Mr. Kamal's

Mr. Kamals is another snack stand in Animal Kingdom that is a must-do for our family. Specifically, Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries are truly a stand out as they are crispy fries with a delusions dipping sauce. We always get these fries as something to snack on while walking after seeing Feathered Friends in Flight. I know that this snack has received criticism because you aren’t given a bunch of dipping sauces at once, but as a family who likes to eat and walk with them, we prefer only having one dipping sauce. That being said, it would be nice to have more than one dipping sauce available so you can choose the one you want most. Either way, this is a great snack and a must-do when you are in animal kingdom.

Pros:

- Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries

Cons:

- It would have been nice to have had a wider selection of sauce offerings where you only choose one

Review of Eight Spoon Cafe

Eight Spoon Café was a must-stop for our family during our visit to Animal Kingdom. Though this snack stand looks inconspicuous, it has some real treats that differentiate it from all the other snack stands in the park. Specifically, we loved the Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork. They give you a good portion that can be both devoured by one or shared with your family members. This snack is a great addition to the staple items on the menu, such as a Mickey Pretzel with Cheese or Churros, and we will continue to visit Eight Spoon Cafe during our future visits to Animal Kingdom.

Pros:

- Baked Macaroni & Cheese with Pulled Pork - classic Disney park snacks - Great location right before you enter Asia

Cons:

- Do not expect a "gourmet" mac and cheese flavor or the best Memphis-style pulled pork. The mac and cheese still tastes a bit like Kraft cheese, and the pulled pork can be a little runny, but considering it is at a snack stand inside the park, this item is still worth it for us!

Review of Sebastian's Bistro

May 6, 2024. Family style is our favorite dining, so Sebastian's Bistro was an easy choice. What made this special over other similar family style dining was the Caribbean flavor, sauces and preparation that came with the regular chicken, pork and beef options. Plus there was fish included in this meal.
As with other family style dining, there was plenty of food, and when ordering more of an item, the food came quickly. The service was very good. Easily the best of this trip, and now one of my favorite restaurants in WDW.

Pros:

Caribbean take on family BBQ

Cons:

none
