Review of Caring for Giants - Animal Kingdom

The Caring for Giants Tour should only be taken if you'd like to learn about each of the individual elephants. The distance between you and the elephants is about 100 yards or more. It is not a close encounter with the elephants. I do not recommend the tour. I do recommend taking the safari tour. You will see more of the animals on the safari tour. The safari tour was outstanding!

Pros:

Logan, our guide, was very informative.

Cons:

You are only allowed within 100-150 yards of the elephants. You only go to one specific area and it's for about 30-40 minutes. we were very disappointed in the tour.

For an overall good customer experience at Magic Kingdom, this ride fell beyond short. Two workers, Anissa and Merlin, were rude and degrading to first time riders who were trying to learn the ins and outs of the ride. They were not willing to help and should be addressed with appropriately and promptly.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Workers

Review of Starlight Safari - Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village

Do not believe the reviews. This was a horrible experience. They promise night vision. Out of our party of seven, two were not functioning. Several others had scratches. When they were passed out, 50% of participants didn’t have working batteries in theirs. All of the animals could be viewed from just going in the lookout area of the lodge. They promised 30 exotic animals, they only have about 6 different types. The Kilimanjaro Safari that is included with animal kingdom was so much better. The animals were no more active at night, just harder to see. Please save your money. Just go explore the Animal Lodge Resort and see the animals for free, or actually see a lot more animals in Animal Kingdom

Pros:

Wasting money

Cons:

Malfunctioning equipment. Only about 6 types of animals. Basically driving around a hotel for a lot of money

Cons:

WAIT TIME ! We have found walking up to 2:30 to 3. You usually can get out without reservation..

Review of Edge - The Disney Wish and Treasure

Our daughter (11) was supposed to be in the Oceaneer’s Club during out last time on the Wish. She loves the Oceaneer’s Club/Lab! But just before our sailing, the rules were changed to 10 and under, and we were told she now had to go to the Edge. She was crushed, and we were very frustrated - we booked this trip believing she would have a fun and familiar place to be. But we encouraged her to check out the Edge and be open-minded. She hated it, and after going to an Open House, I can’t say I blame her. Nothing to do but play video games - and apparently there were issues with kids hogging the controllers and not even let other’s play. So more likely just watching total strangers play a game. She likes video games, but even she said that that’s not how she wants to spend her vacation. She can do that at home, anytime. What’s the point of a Disney vacation that feels like you’re just in someone’s rec room/finished basement?

Pros:

There’s some video games if you’re willing to fight for access, probably fine if your kid doesn’t like Disney and is super social

Cons:

Loud, boring, disorganized, very difficult space for kids who are less social or have sensory issues, surprisingly lacking in fun or Disney anything considering it’s, well, a Disney cruise
