Review of Hurricane Hanna's Grill

It hurts me a little to write not good things about Hanna's as my family has been eating here for many, many years. However, as the prices rise, the service and food quality fall. We had three in our party, 2 ordered the scallop, lobster and shrimp roll and one ordered chicken nuggets. The nuggets were fine of course, standard Disney nuggets. The seafood rolls were average. The buns were fresh and soft but the salad itself was far more filler and lettuce than seafood. I specifically asked if it had onions and was told no. Then hesitation..."Are you allergic?" No, I just don't like them and would change my order. "No, no onions." Spoiler alert, it was chock full of onions but I guess my dislike wasn't enough for her to confirm if it had them or not. The meal took almost 20 minutes and by the time we got our food, it was pouring. The tables with umbrellas were all taken so we stood under the covered drink area. Not ideal, we know, but we stood in front of the coffee, which no one was getting because it was 95°. A cast member rudely told us that there were plenty of seats in the lobby. Well, okay, except we won't be ruining $40 worth of food to get there. It just isn't what it used to be and its sad. Normally we would have given it another shot but we decided on Beaches and Cream the following day, which was wonderful.

Review of Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

We enjoyed Via Napoli in late July. We got a large pizza, half pepperoni half margherita, the mixed salad and a pitcher of sangria. The food and sangria were all perfect. Our server didn't show up for about 20 minutes and when he did, he didn't seem at all bothered that we had been sitting for a very long time. He was very slow moving and casual...when in Rome, I suppose. Our water server was awesome and very engaging. We will definitely go back.

Food, Sangria

We ate here for the first time other than drinks to go in many, many years. We didn't have an ADR for lunch but they got us right in at opening and sat us at the counter, right in front of where the sundaes are made which was so fun. One member of our party got a standard grilled cheese, one got a cheeseburger and I got the turkey sandwich. It had cranberry jalapeño jam and fried onions and was delicious. Our server was wonderful and refilled our drinks in to go cups when we were done without us asking him to do so. The day before we got a No Way Jose to go for a snack and it. Was. AMAZING. If you don't get a meal here, at least give it a try for the ice cream and fun atmosphere.

Food, Service, Atmosphere

Review of Mama Melrose's Lunch/Dinner

I hesitate to start w/ our wait, thinking you may discount my other complaints, but I assure you that all aspects are being judged on their own. That said, we had to wait 45 minutes AFTER our reservation time to get a table. Our server was shocked at how busy it was, saying they were slammed and had no idea it was coming, which leads me to believe that they either just kept taking in walk ins when they had no room, or they overbooked. Not good.
The service, in general, was very slow. We ended up there for about 2 hours, which is WAY too long for a 3 year old and 6 year old to sit patiently.
The food was ok. My steak was decent, but nothing special. The fried calamari were onion ring shaped, but they were pretty tasty, nonetheless. The tuna appetizer was not horrible, but nothing special, and the sauce they served with it was not good. The desserts, again, were 'meh'.
I wasn't miserable, but I wouldn't go back.

Pros:

Service was friendly, atmosphere

Cons:

Food was so-so; service was slow

Review of Tusker House Character Breakfast

I was told this was a must do, and I'm happy for that. The food was really good. Some of my family got the regular American fare... eggs, waffles, etc... and loved it, but I tried to stick to the more ethic foods. I don't know how authentic they were, as I've never been to Africa, but they were interesting and delicious. I would say this was one of the best meals I had at Disney.

Pros:

food, service, characters

Cons:

a little tight, but I'm stretching here to come up w a con

Review of Chip and Dale Harvest Feast at The Garden Grill

Our server was great, and our boys loved the characters, but that's where the good ends.
The food wasn't gross, but it was kind of blah. I made a special point to come here, remembering it from when I was a kid. Back then, it wasn't a character restaurant, but the lands you saw as you rotated were much more extensive. As background, it's a rotating restaurant where you pass by a number of 'scenes' as you rotate, including a jungle, farm, etc.
We (my mom joined us, so we had both been there way back when and again now) remembered monkeys in the jungle scene and another scene with lightning during a thunder storm. Neither were present, so they must have changed it.
The food was nothing special; we should've gone to the countries instead. I won't be back here.

Pros:

Friendly service

Cons:

Food; atmosphere

Review of The Wave Lunch/Dinner

The food here was delicious. I originally had reservations for the California Grill, but I made an error in planning out my dining plan, and the Cali Grill took 2 meals, which I didn't have budgeted. I was disappointed in having to "downgrade" to the Wave, but it turned out great.
We were there the first night, so I don't remember everything we ordered, but I do remember it was great. I got a steak for dinner that I loved and was cooked perfectly, and the sides were really really good. The "bacon and eggs" app, which was pork belly with an egg yolk over cheesy grits was incredible. High quality like that you'd get in a high end restaurant.
This was my favorite sit down dinner while I was in Disney.

Pros:

Food; friendly service

Cons:

Slow

Review of Trattoria al forno - Dinner

We tried the Trattoria on Saturday night during a brief weekend trip to WDW. We had eaten at this location during its previous iterations (Kouzinna, etc.), and I will say this was the best of the 3. Our food was good. I won't say it was extraordinary, but all members of our party of 8 enjoyed our meals. The wood fired pizzas were very good as we had one Margherita pizza and one prosciutto/potato (smoky and unique). All of the entrees were good, and the bread was plentiful and excellent.

Our server (Hollie) was outstanding. She was full of energy and a lot of fun. Great service and she made dining enjoyable for all of us. Her sister was actually the pizza chef, and my 10 yr old son was over talking to her for quite a while as she made the pizzas in the open kitchen.

I really like the atmosphere of Trattoria, as I didn't feel as crowded as I normally do at most Disney restaurants. The noise level was surprisingly low, but we were towards the windows facing the boardwalk area and not in the center.

All in all we really enjoyed our dinner and would certainly return.

Service, Atmosphere, Food

Review of 50's Prime Time Cafe Lunch/Dinner

Ate here on Aug. 11. Had ADR and waited about 30 minutes for a table. The checkin and waiting area is extremely chaotic and very crowded. You cannot hear your name. The server literally screams your name, and unless you are close, forget it. They need to have those vibrating beepers or a microphone. Our server, Caroline, was great and in the character. My son was a little scared at first when she told him to get his elbows off the table, but then he got into the game. I had the chicken pot pie, which I was not impressed with. I prefer a pie type crust, and this was a croissant type crust and got soggy in the sauce. The flavor was really good with lots of chunks of chicken and a huge portion. Dad's Peanut butter chocolate cake was huge, even for two people. Very good though. When Caroline brought it out, the other tables in our area could not believe the size of it, and it must have had a whole can of whipped cream beside it. My daughter's eyes got really wide when she saw it. Would go again but would get something else. Also, very pricey, but it is Disney so you know that going in.

Pros:

Nice staff and good food, and Atmosphere

Cons:

Crowded in waiting area and needs microphone to call your name or give beepers
