Review of The Wave - Breakfast

I made an ADR for the Wave after reading a review. It was well worth it. Everything on the buffet was fresh, hot and flavorful. Eggs Benedict were cooked just slightly past the runny stage, but still quite above my expectation.
I liked the atmosphere. This seems like a hidden gem. It's right next to check-in, but it was quiet in there. This translated into really good service. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday during the trip and she was treated to a delicious brownie at the end of the meal.
Definitely will go again!

Ate here for the 2nd time. I was able to make a last minute reservation though I probably didn't need to.
The food here is pretty fantastic. Very good calamari, hummus, and we had the chicken & beef kabab. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked.
The service was better than last time, though they are not overly attentive. The server could have checked in on us a couple more times than she did.
We got to sit outside right on the lagoon. It was lovely. The only con was that they kind of pack people in tightly. One server had to ask a diner to move so she could place food on the table next to us.
Overall, wonderful.

Very disappointed in quality of food. Have eaten here over ten years ago and expected the same flavors of food. While a lot of food for the price, the chicken was dry, the couscous could have come out of a box. No spice, no flavor, even though there were cooked veggies mixed in. What I loved from my previous visit, just wasn't there. I must add that the goat cheese appetizer was very tasty. But again, there were spices and flavors added to it. Even the baklava tasted "old". Sorry, but I will not be returning

Knew Disney paid attention to details, but this tour explains and shows to what extent this is taken. This three hour tour ended too soon. I walked from land to land within the Magic Kingdom with a cane and had no problem. Cara was an excellent guide! Only con was when the park opened to the general public 😉

My husband and I stayed here on our Honeymoon from 1/4-1/9. When we arrived, the breathtaking Christmas tree and all the other wonderful Christmas decorations were still up. They remained up until our last night, which was such a treat! We explored the resort one night and found an area above the lobby with fireplaces! It was secluded and we ended up relaxing there listening to the mur murs of everyone below for a good solid hour.
I was worried that the beds would be too hard for us. We are tempur-pedic bed snobs so conventional mattresses really tweak our backs. This was probably the best conventional mattress I've laid on. Probably the best hotel mattress I've ever experienced.
We requested a room near the elevators, and they ended up putting us on the other side of the resort next to stairs. The stairs were convenient, but took a toll on our bad knees. We were situated on the 3rd floor, with a woods view facing the villas. On the left we could see some of bay lake and on the right we could see the villa's pool. It was a gorgeous view. Another positive was the chairs on the balcony. I was nervous that my large bum wouldn't fit, but we encountered all the chairs with armrests at that resort to be plenty big for my large bottom.
Be sure not to miss the electrical water pageant. It was adorable. The night we saw it, it was so cold and so windy. We went and got hot chocolate and plopped ourselves on the beach to enjoy it as much as we could. The music and the lights were cute and enjoyable!
We did have a negative experience with someone at the front desk, but another cast member ended up saving the day for us.
The boat to and from the Magic Kingdom is fantastic. The buses are the worst possible thing though. They are far and few in between and when they do show up, they take you to another resort to pick up more guests. The whole bus situation was frustrating that we took our car to the parks after that.
I hope to stay here again in the future!

Stayed Jan 26-Feb 1. Had a refurbished room in Barbados. The room had the new 5th pull down bed, which is nice if you have 3 children. No complaints but nothing fantastic to report. Just a typical hotel stay. My kid got sick and puked on the floor and they came cleaned it up very well along with bringing us new sheets. This is my 4th time at Disney in the last 7 yrs and after staying in Disney hotels every time, I might try a DTD non Disney hotel next time. After staying in a Hampton in on the way home, it makes you realize how little the Disney hotel rooms actually are.

This is by far my favorite place on property. While it doesn't beat places like Texas de Brazil, it is as close as it gets. Once seated the food starts to come fast & furious & Plentiful. Don't hold back, it is all you can eat. First comes the bread, then hot towels to cleanse yourself with. After that the dumplings & chicken wings hit the table followed by lettuse wraps. Once the lo mein & veggies hit it's go time for the meats. Steak, pork loin & shrimp all brought from the wood grilled fire to your table on skewers. Then once your starting to feel uncomfortable from gorging the most amazing dessert is laid out in front of you to devour. Banana bread pudding a la mode with Carmel sauce. You can't resist & leave feeling like it's thanksgiving with a big 'ol food baby joining you

Every trip we are sure to make a visit to Sci-fi, it's our favorite at the studios. I had the strip steak with blue cheese butter (yumm), veggies & mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. My sister had a burger which I've had in the past too. It is much better than the burger you get at quick service locations. For dessert I had a a vanilla shake which was equally yummy & she had an ice cream sundae. Thumbs up for a great meal

My husband and I ate here in January. We got a table on the second floor by a window overlooking the pathways below! It made for some relaxing people watching while we waited for our food. Our server was very attentive. We started off with the eggrolls and the fried green beans. Both were fantastic! Next we both had the salmon. I had the Seared Miso Salmon while he had the Ginger Salmon. Both were very good. The ginger salmon was the better of the two, but the miso salmon had some redeeming qualities. They give you so much food here that we decided to focus on the salmon instead of the other stuff it comes with so we could enjoy our dessert. We both got the fried wontons. Always and A++.
Only con was the dirty spoons we received. We flagged down our server and she quickly got us a clean pair so we could enjoy our dessert!

After nearly 2 years away, we went back to the Caribbean Beach Resort on January 2 - 11th. We had requested Jamaica Building 45 but were given Barbados Building 15 instead. We opted not to push to be assigned a room in Jamaica because we were coming it at the tail end of the holiday week. We did have some issues with check-in. We arrived at 5:30 AM and were told we could not check in or get our parking pass until 6:00 AM. I had thought that if you did on-line check-in all your paperwork was ready when you arrived and all you needed to do was get your room assignment. This was a problem for us as we had planned on going to breakfast early and then driving to Animal Kingdom in our own car. Once we did check in, I asked the cast member specifically if our Annual Passes had been linked to our Magic Bands so that we could enter Animal Kingdom when we got there without stopping at Guest Services. She indicated so, but after standing in half an hour line at Animal Kingdom for entrance we were tole our Magic Bands did not have our Annual Passes attached and so we wasted another half hour going to Guest Services to activate them. If we had known we had to activate our Annual Passes on the Magic Band at the park, we would have gone directly to Guest Services and not lost nearly an hour of our time. On with the rest of the review..We received a text message notifying us of our room in a different building than what the cast member at check-in told us (not a big deal, it was still in Barbados). We were very pleased to see that it had been renovated and now included queen sized beds, a big improvement from the previous use of full size beds! Note that they are renovating one village at a time. while we were there, they were working on Martinique. Other than the check-in fiasco, we were very pleased with our stay. The renovated rooms are lovely and very functional. I am pleased that they now have combination safes so that we do not have to carry a bulky key with us to the parks. Mousekeeping was for the most part great; no towel animals, but our room was vacuumed and cleaned every day. Our only complaint was that we returned to the room most days around 2:00 PM and often found the room had not been made up yet. This was a problem as we often wanted to rest and then had to leave the room and go to Old Port Royale while they cleaned. The grounds were lovely and our building was close enough to Old Port Royale that going for drinks or a snack was no problem. I see that they no longer offer canoe and paddle boat rentals at CBR. A shame as we would have enjoyed that. They have also removed the outdoor chess board and pool table from the Marina Area. I did enjoy the evening movie though and the food court area was very clean. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend CBR to anyone who is looking for a moderate resort.
