Review of Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Breakfast

During a 6 day stay at French Quarter, three adults ate most breakfasts at the food court, mainly using Dining Plan snack credits. The snack credit selection at breakfast is good, but gets repetitive and carb-heavy. I had a lot of grab and go fruit trays, along with either oatmeal or grits. Some days the grits were plain, and other days there was a hint of red pepper, so if you are averse to spicy foods, ask before you order. The staff is always pleasant, patient and helpful, and the cooks at the various bays are especially nice. Hooray for begniets!

Pros:

Mostly good food; excellent staff

Cons:

Gets repetitive

Review of Boma Flavors of Africa Dinner - Jambo House

I continue to enjoy eating at Boma, although as I get older, I'm not sure that I eat enough to justify the price. I tend to stick to the soups, salads and fish dishes, all of which are enjoyable. The night my husband and I ate there, seating was extremely slow (the beginning of December) and the staff was having a hard time keeping up the little messes along the buffet line. There were lots of little kids serving themselves and leaving glops of food on the serving stations. Our table server was very nice and attentive. Servers at the buffet were pleasant, if swamped. The selection of food seems a bit smaller than at our last visit, but there is still plenty of variety.

Pros:

Excellent buffet

Cons:

Not quite what it used to be

Review of Sanaa Lunch/Dinner - Kidani Village

Unless you are starving, don't order the bread service. Three adults could not finish all of the bread, along with salads and entrees. Food is excellent and sometimes spicy, and a bit exotic. Unfortunately, both I and a friend ordered the daily mahi mahi fish special and ended up getting sick during the night. No idea why, although the fish was served rare. Still, I would return, but specify that fish be cooked through. I substituted a salad for dessert and am glad that I did, considering the size of the entree and the vast amount of bread.

Pros:

Excellent food

Cons:

Way too much food

Review of The Edison

The Edison drips in character and atmosphere from when you step in - in what we described it as a speakeasy + steampunk. The wait time was way too long but it was made up by the food, friendly staff and entertainment. A bit on the pricey side of things but the food came out great and we enjoyed relaxing to the jazz band playing and the dancers and singers taking the stage and dance for. Oh, one small note they do not offer Sweet Tea for some reason. Definitely a fun place to go - more for grown ups then the kids but worth it.

Pros:

Food, Service and a Fun Atmosphere

Cons:

Wait Times

Review of BOATHOUSE

The food at The Boat House is awesome for use, the table staff and service were spot on so that made our dinner special. What we notice was how crowded the dinner room was - they seem to pack as many as they can on board and that got to be a little too close for comfort at times and for a Disney Restaurant we found Boat House lacking some character, unlike a place like Edison's which drips character. Definitely a place to try as the food is great.

Pros:

Food and Service

Cons:

Character and Crowded

Review of Tiffins

It has been quite some time since I've written a review, but I just had to write this one. I dined with friends last weekend at Tiffins for an early dinner before the Princess Half Marathon the next day. It was my first time to try Tiffins but I look forward to being there again. The staff was phenomenal - from cast members that chatted with us about the history of the building and theming of the dining rooms to our server who was very personable and gave great recommendations. The food was some of the best I've ever had on property - I chose the wagyu strip and crispy fried cauliflower and the whipped cheesecake for dessert. I just felt all of the food was very thoughtful - with care taken on flavors to compliment each other. I will say that some may find the portion small on the strip loin. Wonderful service, wonderful food - can't wait to go back.

Pros:

food, service, atmosphere

Cons:

some may find portions small

My mom and I walked by on a very busy Saturday at Disney Springs. We decided on a whim to try it. We sat on the patio, which seemed to be a free for all as far as people just walking in a different entrance and sitting down, but we still had a good table. Our waitress, Victoria, was amazing! The food was delicious and the Guinness dip for the bread service was amazing! You get quite a bit of food for the price and we definitely didn't have room for dessert. It's definitely on the list to eat at again!

Pros:

ambience, food

Cons:

patio was a free for all

Review of California Grill - Brunch at the Top

The price I paid included the 20% off for Tables In Wonderland, which is available only for Florida residents.

For anyone who has cruised DCL, this brunch reminds me of Palo's brunch, but on a much smaller scale. (which is why I rated this a 9, it needs more variety) You choose from the buffet line and then order an entree. There is no limit, you could order more than one entree with bacon or sausage etc. Go back as much as you please.

We opted for all you can drink champagne rather than mimosas. They have great coffee, really strong. Brunch ends with a pastry tray. Since we are local, we took home what we didn't eat and our server even added pastries and bread from the buffet which we really loved.

A special occasion event for sure. We went for our anniversary and a birthday. We will go again.

Pros:

great food, live music, free mimosas or champagne

Cons:

pricey, could use a larger selection

We got the Fantasmic dining package and booked several months out. The reason we booked it was you trade the option to pick your desert on the dining plan for an appetizer which is not usually included. Well they changed what you get with the package without letting anyone know. Now they dropped the price by 3 bucks and eliminated the appetizer. You still get the horrible desert sampler, instead of choosing your own desert, but no appetizer. This means that you would pay almost 10 dollars to get worse seating at fantastic than those with fastpasses. The food tasted good, but the portions were very small for the price. The side for the steak was 12 penne noodles. Now that is ridiculous. While we were still eating my son was googling snacks in Hollywood Studios so he could get something else to eat. I highly recommend that you don't get this package at all. I actually won't be back to the restaurant at all. The menu has changed and not for the best. As an aside they have one thing on the menu called a specialty beverage and it is not a specialty beverage included on the dining plan. New menu, but they didn't even think to change that? All together a really bad experience. The waitress was amazing though so that was something

Pros:

food tasted good

Cons:

value, information to customers

Review of Old Key West Resort (Disney Vacation Club)

First time staying at OKW. It was a short stay, only a couple nights. As other reviews have stated, the room was huge. We were in a 1-bedroom, and it was surprising how big it was. The furniture was showing a bit of wear, but nothing that mattered. It's a scenic resort, but a bit too spread out for my tastes, and other than its proximity to Disney Springs, not a great location. Check in was fine, staff were really great (more on that below). Road construction really slowed down traffic throughout the resort, which was a pain.

I left a baseball hat at the pool, which ordinarily wouldn't be too big of a deal, but my mother-in-law had this hat made for me, and we were heading off to visit said mother-in-law directly after we checked out. So when I asked at the main desk, and the woman came walking out from the back room with my hat, I reacted like a kid at Disney World.

Overall, a nice resort, perfect for a short stay like ours.

Pros:

Room size

Cons:

Construction
