This place was very crowded with lots of people dining and lots of people waiting. We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation and were seated within minutes. Despite the crowds we were not rushed at all. These folks have it down pat. Tables emptied and were immediately cleaned and filled. It was quite impressive.

Everyone loved their food with the exception of my youngest son, who had the kids popcorn shrimp. He thought they were too spicy. The adults food was awesome. Would definitely return.

Great service and excellent food. I think this is kind of an unhidden gem. The prices are reasonable when compared to other sit down restaurants. Loved it!

We had reservations our first day at 2:30. We arrived at the resort much earlier than expected and walked over to see if we could get in any earlier, fully expecting a no. Instead the lovely young lady out front gave is a canceled time and then got us in even earlier. She also got us all ice water while we waited. Really awesome and the food was good too!

Review of Disney's Contemporary Resort Concierge Level

Reviewed by ajrob Review Date: 04/12/2016

Let's start off by saying my expectations were high, and not met upon arrival, but as the trip was underway my opinion increased a bit.

Upon arrival, I was not greeted outside, or inside for that matter, nor explained that when I checked my luggage at the entrance of the Contemporary, I would not see it until 8:30pm. My room was not ready when we arrived at 1:30pm, and was told it wouldn't be long, I would receive a text. That text never arrived so by 4pm I went up to the Atrium Club(12th floor) to be told, "oh, no one called you?". The one room request I submitted to the concierge about 9 months in advance, was a northern facing room, that request was not met but I was told I could check out the next day and check-in again for that specific placement of room. After the first day debacle, I didn't chance it.

I am a seasoned Disney traveler for decades now and each and every trip I mail a box or two ahead of my arrival of heavier items as to not weigh down my luggage. This box could not be found. By 9pm the Concierge told me several people had looked for my box and it never arrived? It wasn't until I produced a receipt of delivery, that I did finally receive my box, 10:30pm.

Now, I have stayed everywhere in Disney, on and off property, value, moderate, deluxe, even the campground, and I have never had all of these complications I encountered here, and I'm paying a lot of money for Concierge service?

That being said, as the trip moved along, there were some perks to the club level.
1. The food in the Atrium Club was delicious, always fresh and plentiful, there are specific times, but for the greater part of the day food is available(7am-10pm). There are drinks available 24/7 like juices, soda and milk.
2. You could receive additional Fast Passes by texting the concierge which attraction FP+ you wanted next.
3. I wanted an item that was only available at another resort, and one of the hotel "runners" went to pick it up for me and it was waiting in my room that night.
4. At one point I had some magic band issues and they were quickly resolved by the concierge at the desk.
4. Nightly turn down service
5. We were always greeted with a hello.
6. Our room was beautiful and I highly suggest a Magic Kingdom view room.
7. Mousekeeping was fabulous, Yugenia went above and beyond in our room, it was super clean everyday in a very timely matter!
8. Being on the twelfth floor and at the time we were there 3/29-4/6 it was extremely crowded and yet I never heard Chef Mickey's or monorail noise at all!

While I would definitely stay at Contemporary again, I will not add the expense of it's Concierge club.

Concierge

Review of Animal Kingdom Lodge - Jambo House (Deluxe Resort)

We stayed at the AKL-Jambo House during spring break 28Mar2016-02Apr2016. We loved everything about this resort!
Theme: A+
Animal viewing: A+++
Dining:A+
Bus Service to parks: A
Guest Service: A++

I would highly recommend staying at AKL at least once just to experience falling asleep with giraffes outside your window and waking up to zebras!

I sent in a fax prior to our stay to request the Arusha savannah and was thrilled that they were able to accommodate the request. We were a close walk to the lobby and had amazing animal views!

We ate at Sanaa, Boma, Mara, and Jiko and enjoyed them all. Mara was very busy but to be expected for quick service dining. It was nice to have a variety of dining choices within our resort.

The lobby was huge and beautiful but also welcoming and comfortable. I spent some time sitting on the sofas reading and just people watching.

My son used the pool and really enjoyed the size and close location to Mara.

I had read that the lighting in the rooms was dim so I took a lighted makeup mirror. I found that I did not really need it. Perhaps Disney has updated the lighting based on reviews? If you are a lady who likes a brighter makeup light, then I would suggest taking a battery operated makeup mirror. I picked mine up from Bed,Bath, and Beyond.

My only complaint would be the size of the room. We had two adults and an 18 year old with us, so the room could be a bit tight for the three of us. We made it work and rotated bathroom time so it worked out well. Since I doubt Disney will be expanding the room sizes, if you are a family who likes a bit more space, either get a bigger room or mentally prepare yourself to be close. 😉

Overall, we LOVED AKL and we can't wait to get back HOME. 🙂

Pros:

Animals, Decor, Dining, Service

Cons:

room a bit small

Review of Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate Resort)

This was our first stay at French Quarter, the grounds were beautiful, check in was fast and easy, and the kids loved the pool and slide. My only complain would be the food court, it was small and dirty and more than once the staff were rude and even after complaining in front of the manager no one apologized or seemed to care. I was very disappointed!

Pros:

Beautiful grounds and Friendly staff

Cons:

Food Court and Food court Employees

We ate here on April 5, 2016. We got 5 fish and chips between 6 (3 of us split 2 plates) of us and it was plenty. Adults had beer and kids had sodas. The fish was hot, not dried out at all but just perfect. The fries were also hot and thick like they should be with fish and chips. We got tables to sit at and this was a very good counter service lunch experience for us.

Pros:

Fresh, hot and perfectly cooked

Our Boy Scout Troop camped at Creekside Meadow at Disney's Fort Wilderness Camp ground. The grounds were awesome. Nice comfort stations that were cleaned daily, trash was picked up daily, and the bus picked us up just steps away from our camp site. The swimming pool was relaxing and we enjoyed the boat ride to and from Magic Kingdom. Awesome camp site!

Best Camp Ground Ever!

As a wheelchair user I am used to being ignored, looked over. That was the service here. I waved several times and even made brief eye contact with the cm behind the counter but she kept looking away and taking the guests behind me in line. I finally yelled that I was next and the man behind me told me, in French, to take care of me. She made a comment in French and as they argued, I rolled on out of there. Never again.
