Review of Pop Century Resort (Value Resort)

My wife and I generally stayed at POR & POFQ. We wanted to save a little money for a quick trip from 4/28-5/2 so we stayed at POP. It was my first time to stay there. We chose it because of the dedicated bus system and it lived up. We never waited long at all for a bus.
Food court was good and we also made a trip to AOA's food court just across the bridge to try the "create your own pasta" which was convenient and the pasta was great. The Petals bar was great and the folks were friendly and the drinks were very good.
We stayed in a room close to the pool so that may have contributed to the noise con. But there was also a TON of middle school and high school students there on band and senior trips, so that was a lot of the noise.
The room was OK. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The room and the bathroom was small but we were fine with that seeing as we spent just enough time in there to sleep and bathe.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back.

Everyone should stop in, the atmosphere is great, the service is good. Great wine selections and some food dishes. Very authentic feeling, like you are in Italy.

Somehow this doesn't seem the same as it did when it was in the smaller area where the ice cream is now located.
They still have the pastries and the quiches.
Service was nice, but no seating available inside or out. No one thought anything they had was exceptional, just okay

This breakfast was fun, fun, fun.
Everyone loved the characters, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy. Service was great for drinks, the buffet was wonderful. The Mickey waffles were everyones favorite. The fruit was fresh and delicious. There are selections for everyone. Make sure you walk around the entire set up. We missed the whole cereal and pastry area. But no matter we were all very full.

Very nice location, most people seem to come up for the fireworks then leave. The lounge should come up with a reasonable drink menu, less formal feel and good food selections that don't take forever. Maybe people would hang out longer.

I see many people have had a problem with this restaurant. All I can say is it was fine for us. We had a good meal, good service, and had a lot of fun. It is authentic Cuban food however, and maybe that was not a good choice for some.
I would say give it a try, it is a reasonably priced, nicely themed Downtown Disney restaurant.

We waited so long to get dinner reservations here and it was disappointing.
The food is so mediocre, what a shame.
This should have been a first class restaurant and they would have people coming again and again.
The server was overly friendly, to the point we heard about her whole family. Really? We want to be polite but enough already.
Next time I will try the fast service lunch simply for the atmosphere.

Ok, that's fine if the food is exceptional which it is not. The pizza was very good, other appetizers and dinners were just okay.
Service was very slow and we had to ask more than once for certain things.
Skip this one and go elsewhere.

The food was not good. The restaurant is noisy. The service was okay. They do not take Tables in Wonderland but give DVC 20% but only on two dinners.
Overall I would skip this restaurant since there are many other choices that are far better.
