Review of Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort)

This resort is beautiful but leaves something to be desired. The rooms are pretty basic not much themeing the Food was good but overhyped nothing to brag about. The pool is kinda small and basic and the boat to magic kingdom is slow we waited a long time both to and from. For the price id pick another deluxe resort unless wilderness is just your vibe. Overall we had a wonderful stay but just felt this resort was overhyped not worth the price.

Pros:

Lobby is beautiful. Train room is cool.

Cons:

Pool is basic and small. No pool bar next to the pool. Rooms are basic. Transportation is slow

I had a beer and The Wayfinder Burger

Pros:

This burger was incredibly tasty! The special sauce had a nice hint of heat that I loved, but if you’re sensitive to spicy food, I recommend asking for it on the side since they put a generous amount on both sides of the bun. The burger is well-crafted, both in appearance and flavor. I will likely return, though not in the immediate future, due to the higher-than-normal price. Service was top-notch, not a single complaint or issue. I even sent in a Cast Complement as well for my server.

Cons:

It is on the higher end of the price range.

Fun to compete. Inside queue is too confined.

Pros:

Good fun as you blast your way through the universe.

Cons:

Inside queue is almost claustrophobic. That is not Tim Allens voice.

This is what a themed coaster should be. The "Wildest Ride in the Wilderness" concept isn't just window dressing—it's woven through every beat, from the queue's mining town detail work to the runaway train story that unfolds as you're hurtling through the mountain. The pacing is excellent, the theming is immersive, and it strikes that sweet spot between accessible and genuinely fun.

My one minor gripe: the inside-the-mountain scenes get pretty loud. The audio peaks hard enough to overshadow some of the theming detail you're trying to take in. It's not a dealbreaker, just a small trade-off for the spectacle.

Pros:

Exceptional queue theming—worth experiencing even if you skip the ride Nighttime ride-through is particularly rewarding

Cons:

Audio levels in the mountain scene can be overwhelming

This ride's value isn't for solo travelers or thrill-seekers—it's as a gateway coaster, and that's exactly what makes it worthwhile. My daughter rode this early in her coaster journey, and it gave her the confidence to tackle bigger thrills later. For parents with younger or hesitant riders, that stepping stone matters.

As a ride itself? It's smooth, short, and inoffensive. No surprise jolts, no rough transitions—just a gentle introduction to what a coaster feels like. But objectively, there's minimal thrill or novelty for teens and adults riding solo

Pros:

Perfect confidence-builder for younger/smaller riders making the coaster leap

Cons:

Extremely short—feels over before it starts for experienced riders Zero thrill factor for adults/teens Nostalgic theming is cute but dated
