We were extremely disappointed in this meal. We had a last-minute reservation here, and while the food was okay, the service was terrible. Our server was a no-show for the first 10 minutes, and when she finally came by, she just threw two small bowls of goldfish down on the table, and said we had to wait to order a milkshake for our daughter because she had a table of 9 that had ordered 7 milkshakes. She was rude as well! The salmon BLT was pretty good, but the service made this meal sub-par for us. The seating was awkward as well, at least with two small children. We won't be returning here.

Pros:

Not much

Cons:

Service, the seating arrangements, the outdated film

We always make it to this restaurant on our trips with the kids, for both the character interaction, as well as the food. The characters are a lot of fun, they take the time to come to each table, and even have a few dance sessions during the meal. The food is always above-average for a Disney buffet, with their short ribs being very good. The salmon was good, and their choices for salads and desserts is also large.

Pros:

Character time, the food

Cons:

The noise

Review of Cinderella's Royal Table Lunch

This is a place that we thought would be overrated, but it was actually quite good. The adults split the appetizer plate of hummus, pita and lavosh bread, a small salad with red wine poached pears and blue cheese, and some cheese with honey. The kids appetizer was grapes and cheddar cheese cubes. The pork tenderloin was very good, and my wife had the short ribs, which were good. The desserts were tasty as well. The princesses came around to each table, and the kids received a sword and a star wand to cast a wish during a special ceremony. Cinderella spent a minute talking to my daughter prior to taking her picture. The only slight disappointment was the wait after checking in; we waited about 15 minutes total from when we checked in, had our picture taken, and were escorted upstairs.

Pros:

Face-time with the princesses

Cons:

The price!

Our party of 6 dined here in mid-October, and we had a very good experience. We had a lunch reservation, and the line was still over 20 minutes to place our order. Once placed, the food arrived in less than 15 minutes. The food was good - not great, but very solid. The kids meals were huge - 2 kids could have split one portion of the pork! The nicoise salad was good, almost too much tuna on it, but a good portion size. My wife loved the croque monsieur, and the kids meals were very good. The only disappointment was the steak sandwich, they were dry and the steak was not a very tender cut. The desserts were very good, and the atmosphere was very nice. We would like to try dinner here in the future.

Pros:

The atmosphere, the potato leek soup

Cons:

It is loud, adn it took forever to place our order.

Review of Caribbean Beach Resort (Moderate Resort)

Our stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort was generally a good one, with some quirks. This is our third time staying here in the last 15 years, with the last stay being about 5 years ago. We stayed in the Martinique section, on the ground floor, as we had requested. The rooms were not updated, but we knew that prior to making our reservations. We checked in around 8:30 at night, and it couldn't have been easier. We walked into the customs house, checked in, and were at our room within 15 minutes. Bell services came 30 minutes later with our deliveries from Garden Grocer, and 15 minutes after that with the ECV's. We paid the extra money to be in the preferred area of Martinique, and the location was fine; close to the bus stop, and 3 buildings from the Old Port Royale.

The pool and kids splash area here are both fantastic. Neither ever felt crowded, and the kids loved them both! The playground was nice as well, and the movie by the pool was fun, but get there early, as there weren't enough seats for some nights. The campfire was great too, with the staff being really good with the children, and roasting marshmallows in Florida was quite a novelty!

The food court was just okay. The salads were decent, same chicken nuggets as anywhere else at Disney, and the sandwiches were just okay. Breakfast was fine, if not expensive. There were a few long lines during our trip, but nothing that did not pass quickly. The grab-and-go was decent, usually pretty well stocked, and added the typical Disney price markups. The pool bar was fine, with a really good selection of draft beers, all for between $6-$8.

The concierge counter was always very helpful, and they were there until at least 10, maybe even 11 pm every night.

The bus service was surprisingly very good, as we were prepared to have to wait forever for some of the buses. There was only one time that we had to wait over 20 minutes for a bus. This was great! The buses do have a long way to travel while still in the resort, so it takes at least 10 minutes from getting on the bus in Martinique, to when you actually leave the resort. This was the only thing that was a pain during our entire trip.

Overall, we did enjoy our stay in this resort. The kids loved the pool and splash area, we enjoyed the beer selections and bus service, and we all enjoyed the family time together. I think that for our next trip, we'll try out the Port Orleans French Quarter, or return to our all-time favorite, the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Pros:

Pool, splash park, activities, buses (surprisingly!)

Cons:

The size, some of the food options

I dined at O'hana with my wife and friends of ours for dinner one evening. After months of waiting, we were finally here. After being herded into the main dining area, they took our drink orders, and brought us out our appetizers and salads. Let me say that the resort was very crowded at this point, and this part seemed very rushed. After that we were essentially abandoned. It didn't help that we were one of the end tables. Our dinner was essentially something like this: 3 mushy shrimp, followed 10 minutes later by 3 more mushy shrimp then maybe some veggies and again 3 mushy shrimp. As a native Floridian, I know my shrimp, and these were not the best quality and ill prepared to boot.

We never received any beef or pork at all. We were then unceremoniously shooed away to make room for the next batch of diners. This was without a doubt the worst dining experience I have had at any WDW restaurant.

Pros:

Theming was nice.

Cons:

Poor service, bad food, poor value.

My wife and I went for an anniversary dinner on Oct 10, 2014. Once we walked into the dining area we easily noticed it was loud and extremely cramped. We were basically involved in conversations with the couples sitting on either side of us by sitting so close to each other. The Filet my wife ordered was excellent, perfectly cooked the way she wanted. The Pork dish I ordered (cost $40) had barely any substance to it. Basically two bite sized portions for $40 left me hungry, I was extremely disappointed and both of us decided we will NOT be coming back. We really looked forward to a nice dinner and romantic atmosphere, but were utterly let down. Bypass this restaurant unless they cut their prices in half. Here, you don't get what you pay for at all.

Pros:

Pretzel Bread

Cons:

PRICE, Portions, Cramped table space

We got to the restaurant about 20 minutes before we were scheduled to check in. Checked in anyway, and were told to wait for a photo with Donald and then we would be seated. 45 minutes later, and 3 very grumpy kids, we got our photo and were rushed to do it since they came to seat us at the same time. Our photo is terrible, and we were not given an opportunity to take another.
Once inside, we were asked about food allergies. This was already in the ADR that I had made so I was a little annoyed. Yes... we have a salt restricted diet and a severe soy allergy.
Chef came out, young kid for the most part, and told me that with a soy allergy I should already know what I can and can't eat at the buffet, and that he would bring me my own waffles. As for the salt free, he said there was nothing he could really do for her except eggs that were made with no salt. Needless to say, my mom ended up sick due to salt content in the food and I got undercooked gluten free, soy free waffles that were gross (had them the day prior at another location and they were fantastic). If the character interaction once in side the restaurant had been less than is was then I would have walked out personally.
Do I recommend this restaurant, only to those who do not have any sort of food allergies or intolerance.

Pros:

Good character interaction, lots of food choices if you do not have issues

Cons:

Hard if you have allergies
