Review of Akershus Royal Banquet Hall - Breakfast

Party of 3 had ADR for breakfast. Walkimg through Epcot with little to no crowds early in the morning was fun!

Was able to check-in for ADR then explore the Norway Shop. Upon entering the restaurant my daughter had her picture taken with Belle(part of package price of breakfast-NICE). Then was seated quickly, to a wonderful window seat. There is a big plate of food brought to your table for "family style", eggs, potates, sausage and bacon. Food was hot, fresh and you can get as many of those dishes as the table wants. There is also a decent buffet to chose from with cereal, bagels, pastries, yogurt etc.

Interaction with the princesses was not rushed each princess talked and took pics with my daughter and the adults. Very nice. half way through the breakfast there is a "princess parade", which was cute. My daughter did not participate in that, feeling a bit too mature, but the little princesses and princes were very cute marching around the room. No worries that you might miss a princess, they always come back to the tables.

This breakfast usually gets high marks with my family, we have been to it many times and will do it again next year. Good food and fun with the princesses. Belle(first picture session only), Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty.

Beats standing in line to meet them or use a fast pass+. Same amount of interaction time.

Review of Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate Resort)

I stayed at FQ in 91 the first year it opened. It has aged well. Resort is beautiful. The size is a real highlight. We were in building 7, very far away from food court, but still not bad. I enjoyed my walk every morning to get coffee.
Kids loved the pool, although it is the only thing that is showing that it is close to 25 years old.
You can see why they are not offering discount on this resort, it sells itself for sure. Loved our stay there.

Pros:

Clean, food court options, smallest mod

Cons:

Limited food court space, pool could use an update

As we all know this restaurant can be very difficult to get into. Once we were able to get reservations it was smooth sailing from there. We were seated in the main hall which was stunning. Our waiter was the nicest we have ever had at any dining experience. The steak was the best on property IMO and the salmon was excellent. The French onion soup was also very good. The grey stuff isn't anything special but it was nice just to have. It is a bit pricey but, you're eating at Disney World, everything is pricey,

Food, Atmosphere, Staff

My family & I love this resort and have been there 3 times in the last year and just booked again for this June. After telling my 8 year old granddaughter that we would be staying there again this summer she said "that's my favorite". Our ages vary from 59 down to 2 years old so all the space that this resort room offers is very much appreciated. Never been disappointed. Pool is great also. As many other resorts have more choices (pizza, snacks, etc.) at their fast food service counters we know that already so we can't complain. Maybe the next time they remodel this resort they will make those changes.

Pros:

spacious, great rooms, beautiful resort

Cons:

limited fast service menu

Review of Fort Wilderness Campground

We recently stayed at Fort Wilderness with my family and it was fantastic. We almost always stay here and it never fails to live up to Disney standards. If you are looking for a great campground with plenty of things to do then don't wait to book. It is without a doubt the nicest campground you will ever stay at. The transportation isn't a big deal to me as I am a very patient person so I didn't mind the bus and boat wait. The hospitality of the staff is also superb and is every bit as good as the main resort staff.

Pros:

Cleanliness, Things To Do,

We just returned from a NYE trip to WDW. This dinner and one other stood out above the rest. This was my 20th visit to the world and can you believe I had never stepped foot in the restaurant? Without a doubt the view is simply breath taking. To be honest I had to fight back the tears.

That being said - my sister and I have over 20 combined years of service industry experience...so a view is not going to win us over when it comes to the meal!

I've read reviews about service being poor and the food being over priced for what you receive and I simply believe that to be untrue. Service will always be the wild card since you are dealing with personalities, but the food for the price was spot on. I felt the pacing of our meal went perfectly. We had bottles of wine, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and more cocktails (we went all out this trip) and felt as though everything was brought to us at the moment we were ready!

The entire staff was courteous and welcoming. Encouraging us to return for the fireworks later that evening (which we did).

This will now be on the list as a "must do again" at Disney. It was a fantastic experience and I recommend to anyone who is looking for an excellent meal and ambiance.

Pros:

View, pacing of meal, drink selections

Review of Animal Kingdom Lodge KIDANI Village (Disney Vacation Club)

Family of 6 all adults stayed 11/15/14-11/21/14. Loved it. Usually stay at POP but splurged this time will have a hard time going back to a value.

Room - having coffee watching the animals was neat, spacious , the 3rd bathroom in a 2 bedroom villa was very convenient. Staff was great, room request was granted, room7412, close to lobby and transportation. So can't comment on the looong hallways.

Transportation- Most bus waits were 5 minutes, found bus monitors very accurate, longest wait (one time) was 30 minutes to MK on x-mas party evening. Distance was not bad IMO, we were used to 20 minute rides to MK staying at POP and it was about a 25 minute ride here.

Pool-fun, finally had a pool slide 🙂

Dining-kids did breakfast at Boma and dinner at Sanaa, said food was great, took shuttle and walked to Jambo-Mara a few times, wasn't a bad walk but if it was 90 degrees I don't think I would have cared for the distance.

Would definitely stay again.

Pros:

Atmosphere, animals, bathrooms,

Cons:

Quickservice dining

Review of Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort)

This is the best resort in the WDW family of resorts. It is beautiful at Christmas time. We were there from 11/29 to 12/5/14. Everyone is so great and the new renovations are fantastic. We are ready to book our week for next December already. We've now become Disney Annual pass holders (Florida) so we can visit even more often. The staff at WL was great and housekeeping was so efficient each day of our stay. I didn't have it everyday, however, my son and daughter in law did and it was also good service for them each day. Roaring Fork had some nice food offerings and tasted fresh. We will return next year and every year we are able. We had a breakfast at Trail's End and it was so nice to take a 5 minute boat ride to get there.

Pros:

Absolutely everything and the boat to Wilderness Campground

Cons:

Pool bar was closed the first 2 days Ha Ha

Review of Boardwalk Inn (Deluxe Resort)

We paid $1200.00 for 2 nights at the Boardwalk after spending 5 nights at the Wilderness Lodge (our favorite resort). The only reason we moved was to have the Boardwalk view of the lake and the quick walk to EPCOT and nothing more. I called more than 6 times throughout the year to have notes to that effect put in the reservation and to make sure they were there, otherwise, we would have stayed at WL looking at the gorgeous views we already had. Also, we had 2 rooms at the WL and decided to share at BW (3 adults, myself and my son and daughter in law) due to the cost. When we walked into the room we saw another building, grass, rooftops and people's feet on the boardwalk and a small piece of lake in the upper right corner of the patio. I immediately called and was told that this was "technically" a water view and I got quiet. They did make it right and gave us a room with a beautiful view, but wore us out with the walk. Very nice resort, however, we will not stay there again as the price is not worth the inconvenience of no inside restaurant and having to wait several hours to get the room I had booked so far in advance. We love all things Disney and have stayed at more than 7 different resorts and have been to BW twice now. The lady who checked us in was wonderful as was the college intern who helped us as well.

Pros:

Convenience to EPCOT and views

Cons:

rooms sometimes not what you expect & no restaurant

Review of Restaurant Marrakesh - Lunch/Dinner

First time dining here on 12/17 for a 12:40pm lunch as part of the Candlelight Processional package. We were interested to try some new food in World Showcase. The meal started off fine. My friend got the Beef Brewat Rolls and my mom and I shared the Goat Cheese appetizer for two. All very good and not too "different". Pieces of fresh bread were brought around as well.

We liked the belly dancer and band but were glad they didn't perform the whole time, since the music was a bit loud.

For entrees, I had the Chicken Kebabs, Mom had the Beef Kebabs, and my friend had the Roast Lamb Meshoui. We all liked our choices. I did have some difficulty getting the chicken off the kebab, and definitely sent at least one piece flying to the floor.

After the entrees were delivered, our waiter disappeared. We asked for more bread, told us that was no problem, but never brought any. No drink refills to be found. Waited quite a while for dessert orders to be taken, which the waiter's assistant got for us.

We sampled one of everything, since there are only three choices. The assorted Baklavas were okay, nothing special. I really liked the Bastilla but the other two thought the Marrakesh Delight (fruit salad with mint ice cream in orange water) was the best thing ever.

Now it's been almost 90 minutes since we arrived and our waiter is nowhere to be found. I've hardly ever spent so long in a restaurant. The length of time was compounded by the fact that the restaurant was absolutely ice cold...and I was wearing a sweater! When we eventually got the check, our waiter did not get a good tip. On the way out, we asked to speak to the manager to complain. She gave us a package of baklava and some cappuccinos to go for all the trouble and assured us our server is normally a very good server, one of their best. We know sometimes servers just have an off day and perhaps this was that day for him, but it did dampen our opinion of the place. The food was very good but I'll try the counter service place next time.

Pros:

Good food, entertainment, manager

Cons:

Very poor service and restaurant was freezing
