Review of All Star Music Resort (Value Resort)

This is our family's favorite value resort. We love the family suites and they are great for larger families with young children. The standard rooms are also nice I especially like the Broadway standard rooms. The suited have a living area and a bedroom with 2 bathrooms and a very usable kitchenette. The ones at AoA are dinky and basically useless. The sofa, chair and ottoman all fold out to beds. The bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser, tv, desk with a chair and a wing chair for additional seating. AoA has no seating in their bedroom but they do have bathroom as part of the room. The decor fits right in the music theme but is tasteful and well done. Overall if you have little children this is a great resort. The staff is always friendly and they have 2 pools.

Pros:

Fun upbeat with tasteful decor and reasonable prices

Cons:

can't think of any

Review of Be Our Guest -Counter Service Lunch

We really enjoy the counter service lunch at Be Our Guest. And now it's even more convenient with mobile ordering. The lunches are tasty. Be sure to try the grey stuff for dessert although I like the strawberry cupcake better. My fav lunch is the braised pork dish. The castle is lovely and perfectly themed to the movie.

Pros:

Beautiful setting and tasty lunch

Cons:

expensive

Review of FastPass+ (Retired)

I never liked using fast pass when it was first introduced with the kiosks in the parks and the paper ticket/fastpass. It was cumbersome at best. The new system makes it easy to plan up to 3 rides ahead of time that will be with little to no wait. the program is user friendly in fact I just secured our fastpasses for an upcoming trip.

Pros:

helps with the planning of your trip

Cons:

takes spontaneity out of the theme park experience

Review of Disney Dining Plan

The Dining plan is flexible and a great feature to add or get for free for those people who like to have their vacation paid in advance. You get a table service and a counter service meal each day. There is also 2 snacks that if you plan right you can use one of them as a snack credit breakfast saving the meal credits for your other meals. We enjoy having it but it's not essential.

Pros:

convenient and flexible

Cons:

has gotten expensive

This a little gem of a place. We ate here for the first time several years ago because every other restaurant was too busy. Now we go on each trip. I have had the lobster roll and the grilled salmon. I like that you get fresh vegetables with the salmon. The peach cobbler is absolutely delicious.
If it seem crowded downstairs, try upstairs. It is usually not too busy or noisy.

Pros:

great food, fresh vegetables, plenty of seating.

Cons:

none

Review of Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate Resort)

We have stayed at French Quarter three times. It is our very favorite resort. This is a small resort with just one lovely pool. Every building is close to the food court and the bus stop. Yes, there is only one bus stop, but we have never had a problem getting on a bus. We enjoy having a drink at the Scat Cat club after a long day at the parks. The beingets served at the food court are amazing! You can take a boat to Disney Springs. French Quarter has a very relaxing atmosphere.

Pros:

Short walk to your room, the food court and the bus stop.

Cons:

none

Review of Be Our Guest -Counter Service Lunch

This is my favorite restaurant in Magic Kingdom, and lunch is my fave meal to eat here. (I find the dinner and breakfast options too price-y to really enjoy the meal.) The croque monsieur sandwich is second-to-none. I often substitute green beans for the fries to make sure I'm getting some veggies, and they are always happy to make this change. It is easier at the cash registers up front than on the automated kiosks, however.

Pros:

Topnotch theming! Great music! Three distinctly themed rooms depending on your mood or companions.

Cons:

Difficult to obtain reservations.

We’ve done PhotoPass twice and I don’t think I would do Disney again without it! I love that the whole family is in the picture, including me! There are photographers all over the parks. You get a wide variety of shots. Also, you get fantastic “magic” shots with special effects and you will receive fun videos on your MDE account.

Pros:

Magic shots Fun videos Everyone in the photos

Cons:

Can be expensive, especially if you purchase a photo book through Disney

Review of Disney Dream Overall Experience

I recently took a 7-day cruise solo on the Disney Dream touring the Eastern Caribbean. Prior to this, I had sailed with family three times on the Disney Magic and once on the Disney Wonder, so my review will reflect some differences I observed, as well as the "solo" experience. I was placed with one other couple for dining, and we were similar ages and found lots to chat about each night. When it came to entertainment, I enjoyed being able to pick and choose what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it. I loved having my room to myself (a porthole view room on an upper deck.) I only took one excursion tour, but it was one my family wouldn't have gone on, so again, it was great to be able to do what I wanted. There were a few times I felt a bit lonely, but with the terrific service and attention I received, I didn't have many of these moments. Would I do it again? Maybe, in the future, but I'd probably choose to travel with friends or family next time.

Pros:

The ship had lovely new-to-me dining rooms and the super-fun AquaDuck.

Cons:

I felt that the ship was very crowded in comparison to the Magic and Wonder. I didn't like the adult pool area at all. The pools were weirdly shaped and not at all set up for a leisurely swim. Also, the area had a door that meant families were constantly parading through the area. Not restful at all in comparison to the set-up on the Magic and Wonder.
