We typically love this place (Sonny is fun, toppings bar is very good) but our last trip in Jan 2019, we only visited once. Shared some chicken nuggets and fries - which were fine. This place is currently under construction so seating was very limited and Sonny is not currently showing. We hear he'll be back so we'll try this again next visit.

Pros:

inexpensive, good toppings bar

Cons:

current construction has limited seating and Sonny is not available

Ate here twice during our January 2019 7 day trip to WDW. Can't recommend the Ahi tuna nachos enough, also recommend the Korean BBQ ribs and the chicken lo mein - they're also both great. We tried the Korean meatballs dish, which was ok - the noodles and meatballs were actually quite good but the sauce that came on them was too sweet. Bartenders here are great, service has always been A+.

Pros:

great good, service, atsmosphere

Cons:

none

Review of Be Our Guest Dinner

My family of 6 ate here for dinner November 2018. I had eaten here several times for dinner, before it switched to a Signature restaurant & was a bit nervous that I would be disappointed. Boy was I wrong! My son & his family had never dined here, so it was a MUST on our list of places to eat. We had a 4:00pm dinner reservation, which is right when the dinner menu begins & I was afraid it might be hectic. But nope, eating early was actually way better than the later times. I feel that the later times are generally more hectic, now that we have eaten at an earlier time. I was also worried about the new menu because I am a pretty picky eater. I started with a salad, which was pretty good, but I do miss the champagne vinaigrette. I had the filet & it arrived as ordered & didn't need a knife to cut it! Dessert was pretty awesome as well. Our waiter, I cannot remember his name to save my soul, was very attentive & did a great job! My son ordered Escargot for appetizer, which none of us have ever tried, he just kept saying, "oh my goodness!" He kept trying to get me & his wife to try them & we weren't sure we wanted to. He finally talked both of us into tasting them, & they were delicious! Glad he pushed us to try them. I will be ordering them my next trip. We all had great food & a wonderful time. Since it was their first trip, they didn't have anything to compare it to. But for me, the food was better than before it became a Signature Restaurant! I am planning an October 2019 trip with my daughter & her family & am anxious to see what she thinks. She has eaten there before so I am hoping our experience will be as awesome as this last trip. As for me, Be Our Guest will probably always be my favorite Disney Restaurant!

Pros:

Amazing food & service & getting to see The Beast!

Cons:

Miss the cupcakes but new desserts are great too. Having to plan your trip around trying to eat here, but it's worth it!

Our family of 6 dined here for dinner November 13, 2018. I was absolutely AMAZED at the awesome experience we all had! The food was delicious & we all tried something different (3 adults & 3 kids). I had the braised pork shank that was melt in your mouth delicious! My son ordered steak & shrimp but because his steak was a bit small, JR brought him 2 steaks! We ate here for my grandson's Birthday & our waiter JR treated him like royalty! He is a special needs child & he wanted to eat in the Castle for his special day! Although I think he thought the Princesses were actually going to sit down with him to eat with him, but we explained to him that they come to see him, but have to see all of the boys & girls& therefore would stop by & visit but couldn't stay. He's a flirt, so he had a wonderful time! We were seated by a window which was really neat! But I have to say, our whole experience was so wonderful, it most part, because JR was so good to us! I have eaten at A LOT of restaurants in my time, & he was the BEST waiter I have ever had in my life & the whole family agreed! This was my 2nd trip here for dinner. I ate there a few years ago & that experience was not so good, so I was hesitant about eating there again. But my son & his family had never eaten there & wanted to go, so reluctantly, I went back & I am SOOOO glad I did! The food was 10 times better this trip. Everything about this meal was AMAZING & 1 that we will never forget! It's all about being with family & the good memories!! Thanks to JR for making our meal AWESOME! Going back again this October with my daughter & her family, so hoping we have the same experience again!

Pros:

Our waiter, JR! Great food, great atmosphere! 1 on 1 time with the Princesses

Cons:

Rapunzel wasn't there & we were really hoping she would be!

This is our favorite resort. We love staying here because the size and no room is too far from the front of the resort.

Pros:

It’s a lot more quiet. Love we can boat to Disney Springs.

Cons:

Can’t think of any.

My DD & I ate here as part of the Candlelight Processional dining package. For $38 pp excluding tip & tax we received the buffet, choice of entree, drinks (including specialty) and tickets to reserved seating at the Candlelight Processional.
Overall, I felt like it was a good value as this breakfast was much cheaper than other dining options on the dining package. The reserved seating was a blessing as we arrived 10 minutes before the 5 show in EPCOT that night!
I really appreciated that with your meal you have access to the buffet. It was quite a surprise. You could easily make a meal if buffet items. There were fruits, yougarts, pastries and even biscuits with gravy. I ordered the egg Benedict. The dish was quite good! It came with a side of potato hash that contained sweet potatoes. I normally hate sweet potatoes but these were actually pretty good. I guess it goes to show that anything tastes good when it’s fried with onions! My DD has the chocolate waffles with sausage. She loved the waffles, they were chocolaty without being overly sweet served with fresh whipped cream and strawberries. She wasn’t a fan of the sausage as it was meatball shaped making it a bit dense and unappealing to her. She also order a specialty iced coffee, which was very good.
Our service was pretty slow. The waitress was certainly pleasant and knowledgeable about our package. But the breakfast took more than an hour. The atmosphere is quite nice though not particularly “Disney”. I would recommend this breakfast if your staying at the Yatch or Beach Club and you don’t want character dining or for the Candlelight Processional, otherwise there are better places to spend that hour long breakfast

Pros:

Good food, cheaper access to Candlelight Processional dining package, full buffet

Cons:

Slow service

Review of Be Our Guest - Counter Service Breakfast

This was terribly unmagical, impersonable and disappointing.
Quick service here is basically worse than resort. $28 flat fee adult, $15 flat kids. The “Gaston” is the breakfast platter you can get at any resort minus the waffles/pancake option replaced by a weak fruit cup. Order on kiosk, enter cavernous dining area with some decor, find a dirty table and stand guard until someone cleans it for you. Get your own drinks and silverware. Then the poor staff has to walk table to table on a treasure hunt to match the food in their trolley to the reviews they have to read. The danish plate came with the food, and shock! Was day old at best. Waited 180 days for this. Boo Disney. What would Walt think.

Pros:

Im sorry I have none. It just wasn’t done to impress. Just make a buck.

Cons:

Resort meal at more than double the prices. Long wait. Stale cold food. Unimpressive dining hall “castle”. Beast room very dark, cold, and just a hologram rose.

Review of Be Our Guest -Counter Service Lunch

We are Florida resident pass holders for quite a few years and have been trying to get reservations for Be Our Guest. I went on line every day for a few months. Finally the lunch reservations were made in May 2018 for Jan 20th, 2019. From most of the reviews we read, people praise this restaurant. I do not see why. They herd you in like cattle. The very loud main dining area has nice chandeliers but that is all. One side room has many great pictures from the movie and the other side room has statues of Belle & the Beast. The food is no better than any other over priced fast food in the complex. The French onion soup was luke warm with a solid block of cheese on top. We had to cut it with a knife to get to the broth. I love cheese and left more then half on a plate. It was too hard to chew. The sandwiches were OK at Best. Personally our party of five would not go back if dinner was free. We have eaten at the top and bottom end restaurants in the whole complex. This rates below almost all. I can only imagine what a $60.00 per person dinner would be like. Don't waste your money here.

Pros:

A few great pictures and statues.

Cons:

The food.

The restaurant is lovely and the service was great, but for the price point the food was underwhelming. There seemed to be temperature issues with the food and there was nothing remarkable about any of the entrees we ordered. The food came out quickly, so I got the impression they were more interested in turning over tables than providing an upscale dining experience.

Pros:

Service

Cons:

Price, food

Review of Grand Californian Hotel

We spent 4 nights at the Grand Californian over the holidays and the decoration are absolutely gorgeous. The Christmas tree and gingerbread house give the resort a magical feel, there is a small pop up store selling baked goods and chocolate. Our room was clean and had plenty of space for the 2 of us. The entry to California Adventure was one of the biggest perks of staying at the resort. All the Cast Members we encountered were very nice and helpful.

Pros:

Location

Cons:

Price
