We stayed at the HoJo across the street from DLR last September 2018. This was our first trip to visit DLR and this hotel fit all of our needs. We were traveling with 6 of our 7 children, so we had two rooms. Between the two rooms we had plenty of space. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms are big and the decor is very fun and Disney related. We've done several trips to WDW and always stayed on site. This hotel, with it's decor felt similar to staying in a WDW Value resort. The pool area and splash area were both nice, though the splash area does feel a bit oriented to younger kids. It was literally an 8 minute walk from the hotel to the bag check at DLR. There is no breakfast provided or restaurant on site. We brought our own breakfast foods and there is a fridge in each room, along with Keurig. It's also a quick walk to McDonalds, Panera, etc. The parking lot is smallish and can be tight in some places. However, we just parked when we arrived and didn't move our car until we left. No need to drive to DLR, and we also spent one day doing an amazing bus tour of LA, Hollywood and Santa Monica Beach. I would emphatically recommend. We also got a really good rate (through another prominent Disney site - sorry Allears!)
Pros:
Room Decor, Room Size, location!, short walk to DL, atmosphere.Cons:
no breakfast, splash area is nice but geared towards younger kids (our youngest was 9).Review of Liberty Square Riverboat

Better at night, also lines are shorter then. Nice light entertainment. A Disney classic. Skippers have the ability to go off script when situation warrants it and still stay in character.

Excellent ride. Great scenery, fast paced, just the right amount of thrill factor, even the queue is great. They even seem to have added a bit more padding to the seats since the last time we rode it.

Anyone interested in a good, low cost meal at Disney?! I am! Not sure there’s many places on property that can provide a dinner for four (and I have teenage boys) for roughly $23. The scenery is great, the pizza is great and the Bakery is next door in case you needed dessert or to fill your refillable mug.
Pros:
Great atmosphere; great pizza; great priceCons:

Wanted to like this place but was sadly disappointed. Risotto tasted off and gave up on it. But the other two members of our party actually got ill from their meals.

My hubby and teenage son (both soccer players) just experienced FootGolf at Oak Trail and had a great time. If you’re interested in showing off your skills, getting some exercise, and visiting one of Disney’s beautiful courses all at an insanely low price, check out FootGolf. Disney also provides free transportation to and from your hotel to the course. You also may be able to take advantage of their “play one round get the next free” promo. This will be an every year thing for my boys... guaranteed.
Pros:
Great atmosphere; free transportation; low cost entertainmentCons:

Even if we didn’t happen to stay at Saratoga during a trip and therefore eat at Paddock Grill, I guarantee we’d head over to Disney Springs and boat to Saratoga/Paddock Grill for a meal. The Spice Crusted Fish Sandwich is outstanding! The filet is huge, the bun is soft, the slaw is creamy and the fries are that perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If you can’t find a seat, I find the Artist’s Palette shaded outdoor seating (across the bridge from Paddock) to always be available.
