Review of Walt Disney World Bus System

Yuck. We spent a fortune on Uber and Lyft this September in the end to get to parks. If you want to make sure of making rope drop then you need to do this. The buses are unreliable and often full when they get to you. We were staying at the Beach Club and I found is especially frustrating that, despite paying Deluxe prices, we shared a bus with between 1 and 3 other resorts at any one time, meaning that the bus was often full before it got to us and so we were unable to board. If Disney want people to use the buses then they need to make them more regular and exclusive for each resort.

Pros:

Free

Cons:

Unreliable

Review of Walt Disney World Skyliner

Used the Skyliner's four times on their very first week. For the most part they are quick (a lot faster than buses!), easy and fun. However both times we were changing lines at the CBR station the lines were terrible - 40 minutes and 25 minutes respectively. We were told me a castmember it was because one of his colleagues kept pressing the emergency stop button and causing the whole line to stop, which is alarming! When they are moving they are nice and cool, when they stop (we had a ten minute stop) they get a little sticky. They didn't feel overcrowded at all but thats because, due to the speed they move whilst loading, castmembers do not have a chance of getting ten people on them in time! The most crowded gondola we had had 8 people in it, but we also had one with just two of us, despite the big lines at the station.

Pros:

Fast

Cons:

Stopped working a lot!

Review of Walt Disney World Bus System

Was there during this past summer in August and the bus system has greatly improved their efficiency!

Pros:

This system has greatly improved over the years with their scheduling and knowing just how many buses are needed where and at what times. Kudos to the logostics department that deal with this!

Cons:

The only reason I give this a 9 and not a 10 is sometimes newer bus drivers have a harder time with loading/unloading ECVs, which can cause problems with the efficiency. I believe they need more training specifically in this area.

transport is free; efficient (especially compared to outside services)

Pros:

efficient; direct routes; friendly drivers. sheltered stops

Cons:

too much standees (to allow for higher capacity); passengers not filling all spaces. stops at parks do not give estimated times

Review of Walt Disney World Monorail System

We've used the monorail many times to travel to the monorail resorts and once this past summer to travel from MK to Epcot.

Pros:

The monorail is a nice perspective around the monorail resorts. It also felt like an attraction traveling from MK to Epcot as it travels parts of future world with narration before dropping you off.

Cons:

When switching from one monorail to another at the TTC was a trek just to end up across the way from where you got off. It might be because of the construction going on, but I hope they make this transition easier in the future.

We've never stayed at a monorail resort, but have taken the monorail to tour the resorts and to get to epcot from MK on our last trip this past summer.

Pros:

Nice ride and perspective around the monorail resorts. Great ride coming into Epcot. Felt like an attraction with it going into parts of Epcot with the narration.

Cons:

Transfering at the TTC from one monorail to another was a trek. It might be because of the construction. I hope they make this transition easier in the future.

Review of Disney Transportation Boat, Monorail, Bus, & Skyliner

A trip to the Magic Kingdom would not be the same for us without arriving by Ferryboat at least once! We love sailing across the lagoon, standing by an open window frame with the breeze in our hair, gazing out at the Polynesian Resort, then the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the Wedding Pavilion, and then we can see the beautiful castle getting closer and closer as our excitement builds …...

Pros:

Sometimes less popular (and crowded!) than the monorail, the Ferryboat can be a faster form of transportation than you realise in getting you to the Magic Kingdom.

Cons:

There is sometimes quite a wait for the next boat if you just miss one, sadly.

A quick and easy way to get around, the monorail is a lovely, air-conditioned way to zip between certain parks or resorts! We quite often make a round trip on the monorail in order to take a short break from the parks, see some fabulous sights from the windows, and listen to the fun announcement - please stand clear of the doors!

Pros:

Air conditioning, comfy seats (for a short while!), amazing views out of the windows, fast and convenient.

Cons:

If crowded, you may have to stand for the whole journey!

I think it is the best system it’s great Dash been using it for every trip and have gone to Disney more times than I can count. I have no plans on ever riding the Skyliner especially after the recent break down. I was always only determined to take the busses to the parks. .

Pros:

Very reliable service, great air-conditioning! Comfortable and fun to ride.

Cons:

Can get very crowded though, especially coming from the parks. Bus drivers can sometimes be a little pushy making you move back and over loading the buses. But most drivers are very friendly and courteous!
