This is my favorite attraction at disney. I know it's time for a trip when start singing the tiki tiki tiki song while cleaning the house.

Pros:

This attraction contains the first Disney animatronics. It's historic and just a delightful way to get out of the heat

Cons:

It's a show. It's not a ride and it takes a little while.

Review of Kona Cafe Lunch/Dinner

Well I hate to write this review but feel I really must join the chorus of those saying that the Kona of today is NOT the Kona of the past, and the changes have been to the negative. We stay at the Poly two or three times a year, at least, and have always considered Kona our favorite place to eat. No more. In the past year or so, since they changed chefs, it has suffered. The menu is full of sushi (they have a sushi bar already so those who want to focus on that could eat there instead) and new dishes that pale in comparison to the wonderful dishes of the past. This past visit, the week before Christmas, was the last straw. I had some bland airline chicken with decent vegetables beside it, my DH ordered salmon and had to order a side dish, because NOTHING is included with that very expensive entree. They brought him a plate of broccolini that could have fed at least 4 people, but it was woody and bland and cold. His salmon was inedible--- there were dozens of bones in it, some large enough that I could see them from across the table. It was dangerous, imo. The waitress did not come back by to check with us after someone else dumped off our food. She finally appeared with our check--- didn't ask if we needed a to-go box for my half-eaten chicken or his basically untouched fish, didn't offer to show us a dessert menu, didn't show any interest in us at all. My husband told her about the problem with his meal and she basically shrugged and said "oh, sorry you didn't like it." No one attempted to put things right or even to acknowledge that the meal should never have been served as it was. Water glasses went unfilled, the butter they brought with the rolls was so hard it could not be spread--- lots of little things I could overlook under other circumstances. Clearly, they don't care that their menu is not satisfying to guests like us (oh, how I long for them to bring back the fabulous tuna sandwich that was a must-have for every DW visit in past years). But when the changes in the menu are combined with poor quality control, and worse, a lack of concern, that's when I throw in the towel. I love the Poly, but we'll just grab a bite at the fabulous pool bar next time and head next door to the Grand Floridian for an actual evening meal. I never dreamed I'd post a negative review of Kona's, but I cannot in good conscience recommend it in its current state.

Pros:

It's at the Poly, and they still have Tonga Toast in the morning

Cons:

menu, price, substandard quality, poor service

Review of Walt Disney World Minnie Van Service

We took a Minnie Van from Disney's HOllywood Studios over to EPCOT to catch our JW shuttle back to the hotel. I know financially, a regular Uber or Lyft would probably be the same price or so from HS to the JW but we wanted to try out the Minnie Van service and with our two kids in tow (one a toddler and the other an infant), we felt better about having Disney pick us up with two car seats, ready to go... and they did! The driver knew exactly how to position the car seats and got them all strapped in. I sat in the third row in the back and my wife sat 'shotgun' up front. The driver had been a cast member for a while and his story on why he started with Disney and the positions he worked was interesting. He dropped us off in the best spot for getting to our JW bus once we arrived at EPCOT. Next time, we are going to stay on Disney property for the ease of logistics with kids, though it was great to try out this service. Disney has knack for making even the mundane, like getting around once you are in the Resort a little less 'everyday' and a little more fun. Have a great trip! 🙂

Pros:

You can track the driver on a map to make sure you have everyone together for his arrival, you get to check out a new Chevy SUV, clean and friendly drivers with interesting Disney knowledge, car seats for the little ones, the continuity of staying within the Disney atmosphere.

Cons:

Can be pricey for multiple trips, not all Disney employees are versed on it yet, no Minnie Van pins or multiple trip rewards, can't pay with cash or Disney Gift Card/back to room

My daughter and I decided to use the service instead of taking a bus to Magic Kingdom. The best choice ever. Our whole trip we used the service.

Pros:

It was great getting to the parks in a timely manner.

Cons:

On New Years Eve the app was very busy.

Review of Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate Resort)

My favorite on property because of its size. Our room was extremely far away this year which was unfortunate, but was still not a terrible walk to the main building as opposed to much larger resorts you can stay at. We stayed here the first week of December 2019. Check in was very friendly - we had an issue with Biergarten taking off 11 credits for one meal on our dining plan and the front desk fixed this for us.

Pros:

Small size, accommodating front desk

Cons:

Bus shares with Riverside for Animal Kingdom

Review of Disney's DELUXE Dining Plan

I love the Deluxe dining plan because it gives me a chance to experience some two credit signature restaurants. I'd rather enjoy sit-down meals than quick service so I prefer this over the regular dining plan. My boyfriend and I ate what we wanted - and not what was most expensive - and I still saved over $500 with my deluxe dining plan. We were at Disney the beginning of December 2019.

Pros:

Save $, chance to experience a lot of restaurants

Cons:

A lot of food, expensive - $1400 for two adults for 6 days

This was EXTREMELY hard to get a reservation for! I checked daily for six months prior to our trip and couldn't find a breakfast early morning time slot reservation until the day prior. I'm giving this a low rating because of that + this had the worst Ariel I've ever encountered, and she's my favorite princess! The food here is very good for breakfast - it's nice you get a menu to choose from and the pastries are very good. I do wish they had POG juice instead of OJ. Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder were excellent and very in character. Ariel however "snubbed" our table. She briefly said one sentence to me and then walked away - I had to stop her for a picture. We were on the deluxe dining plan and for two adults this was $98.60. We ate here Thursday 12/05/19.

Pros:

Food selections, Rapunzel & Flynn Ryder were excellent

Cons:

Very hard to get a reservation, no POG juice, Boardwalk can be difficult to travel to if not staying onsite nearby, worst Ariel on Disney property

I love Lilo & Stitch but this visit wasn't good. We had breakfast here last year and loved it. This year not so much. We had breakfast Monday 12/02/19. Pluto was adorable and flopped his ears because he loved my Dumbo backpack I was wearing. Mickey and Stitch were very good and had a cast member watching them. Lilo was far behind and SKIPPED over our table. I've never been skipped over before and there was no cast member with her to nicely complain. I even was wearing a Lilo & Stitch ponytail bow in my hair, necklace, and Stitch top! Our waitress wasn't the greatest. I had to ask her 3x to bring out the Hawaiian bread when other tables she was serving had theirs. We also got jipped on Stitch waffles. Deluxe dining plan two adults $87.33

Pros:

Love Stitch and the pog juice

Cons:

Lilo skipped our table, no Stitch waffles when other tables had them, waitress was told 3x we needed bread until we were served it
