Review of Grand Californian Hotel

As a 13 year old and a lover of Disney, this is by far one of my favorite hotels. I’ve gone to Disneyland my whole life and appreciate this hotel so much. The reason I think it is better than the Disneyland Hotel is because you have straight access to California Adventure and there is a shorter walk in Downtwon Disney. My dad is disabled so it really helps him. Though, if you get a room in the Adventure tower facing the park at the Disneyland hotel, you can get a perfect view of the fireworks. The ambiance in the lobby is also so spectacular. I love the giant gingerbread house during Christmas time. The pool is also very cool and I like the slide, but I think the Disneyland Hotel wins for the slides. The restaurants are also very nice and I love when I can meet characters.

Pros:

- access to California Adventure - shorter walk in Downtown Disney - great view of California Adventure if you get good room - character dining - great pool and quiet during not crowded times

Cons:

- With all hotels you can always get a bad view. One time my family got a view of the roof!

Review of Pop Century Resort (Value Resort)

We have stayed at Pop Century for two of our vacations back in 2018 and 2019. The theming of the hotel is great! We stayed in the 70's section both vacations. Pop Century is affordable! There are 3 different pools, but we love the Hippy Dippy Pool! Every night when we would come back from the parks, we would always get some food at the Food Court. Towards the end of the night around 11 PM and 12 AM, the Food Court does have limited food options. The rooms can be small, but we have 4 people in our family and we were just fine. Our family is mostly at the parks the whole day. We really only spend the morning and night hours in the hotel room. The hotel staff is very friendly! Overall, I would completely recommend Pop Century!!!!

Pros:

Theming is great Skyliner Resort Affordable

Cons:

Small Rooms Limited Food Options towards end of night at the Food Court

A lovely dark ride! Fun, epically the tigger scene. Very fun version of the Pooh comic stories and its great little adventure. It's a short ride however. Recommend trying to grab a fast pass as queues are far too long for what the ride actually is.

Pros:

A lovely dark ride. Nice break.

Cons:

Not worth getting a fast pass unless you are on the day.

Review of Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner

We had a really wonderful meal here on President's Day! I was wondering if they'd do anything special for the holiday--they didn't. But the food was excellent and the servers were attentive. From the salad to dessert everything was flavorful and filling. The turkey slices were thick and juicy. The pot roast was really delicious. We all liked the pork the least, but it's also not high on our list in general. My son loved the salad so much he asked for seconds. They are really great about bringing more of whatever you like. We asked for more turkey as well, and while that took a little longer, out came 4 more nice sizes of turkey for the family. Dessert is excellent--and they'll bring more of that as well, if you like. We were stuffed and could barely eat what we had. We did wait about 15 minutes past our reservation time, but they were quick to bring bread and salad upon seating us. We had eaten here once before many years ago, and my husband didn't remember liking it. I'm so glad I convinced him to try it again because it was one of our very favorite dinners of our 8 day trip!

Pros:

Excellent food, they'll happily bring more of whatever you like

Cons:

took a bit to seat us

Review of Tusker House Lunch and Dinner Buffet

For many years this has been a family favorite--we love the unique offerings and have always enjoyed the characters in their safari outfits. My boys are a little older (12 & 14) but wanted to go back because of the great memories. It was unfortunately hugely disappointing. The food selection was not what we remembered. The carving station had only salmon and pork. Mashed potatoes were out in both kid buffet station and adult buffet station, and some of the more interesting options (African stew) were replaced with poorly cooked root vegetables that were inedible. Desserts were ok, nothing amazing. Wait staff was slow to refill beverages. We did see all the characters and that was fun, but it felt more rushed (maybe because our boys are older and they all spend more time with the littler kids). The real downfall was the bill. I could not believe how expensive it was. With tip, for lunch, over $270 for four adults. Few meals are worth that kind of expense, and this sure wasn't one of them. We were all really disappointed walking out feeling like we'd had an average meal at an exorbitant price.

Pros:

atmosphere, characters

Cons:

Price! Variety and quality of food has also gone down over the years.

A bizzarre but fun show. Its not something as a brit I really understood. However the history is amazing and the animatronics are fun.

Pros:

Its a show which you can hide from the sun.

Cons:

Its utterly bizarre!

Review of Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue

We ate at Regal Eagle on its second day of operation, having only learned the day before that it was open. It was one of the best meals of our 8 day trip to WDW! DH had a platter with pork butt, brisket, and ribs, plus a side of cole slaw. DS had a platter with the sausage, chicken, and ribs, with a side of onion rings, while I had the chicken with onion rings. Each meal came with a nice size slice of texas toast. Everything was incredibly flavorful! The portions were generous and we all felt it was an excellent value considering the size of the meals. We also tried the s'mores brownie, but I have to say that was disappointing. It just tasted like sugar...WAY too much sugar! No real s'mores flavor at all. There were different BBQ sauces at the condiments table, and thankfully wet wipes, because after all that BBQ we all were sticky. It wasn't very busy while we were there, and the staff was all knowledgeable and efficient, despite it being only day 2. We loved it and would definitely eat there again.

Pros:

Flavorful food, great portions, nice selection, good value.

Cons:

dessert wasn't great; messy if you aren't careful with all that BBQ sauce.

Great, fun, over the top laser shooter ride. I am an ultimate competitor so this ride suits my need to compete well. Its also done in a fun way and it great how you can create a new adventure as you control your own cart.

Pros:

Fun ride! 😀

Cons:

You can't pick up your weapon, meaning this can affect your score.
