REVIEW: This Colorful Cake in Disney World Is The Summer Treat You Didn’t Know You Needed

When it comes to satisfying a sweet tooth in Disney Springs, you have plenty of options: Gideon’s Bakehouse, Everglazed Donuts and Cold Brew, The Ganachery, and more.

Let’s eat some new snacks

One of our favorite spots in Disney Springs to indulge our sweet tooth, though, is Amorette’s Patisserie, so when we found out that two new treats had arrived at the pastry shop, we made a beeline over there to try them out.

First up, we’ve got the Key Lime Grapefruit Tart for $8.50. It’s made with Key Lime Custard on a Sugar Tart filled with layers of Grapefruit Jam and Grapefruit Cream. And if that sounds super tart…well, it is. Your lips are going to pucker. If you don’t like tart desserts, this might not be for you.

We liked how the bitterness of the grapefruit comes in at the end of each bite. We generally like both grapefruit and key lime flavors, but this is a bit too much. The tart adds some sweetness, but not nearly enough. This could have used something like a whipped topping or meringue to cut through that sourness.

Pucker Up

Also, in honor of Pride Month, Amorette’s is offering the Rainbow Bellini Petite Cake for $24. Now these little cakes are always SO beautiful, and this one is no exception. It’s made with layers of Rainbow-colored Chiffon Cake soaked with Peach Champagne, Simple Syrup, and Peach Champagne Mousse. Before you dive into it, though, grab napkins, because you’ll end up with rainbow colors all over your hands otherwise, because it melts quickly in the Florida heat.

The cake itself is beautifully airy and fluffy and just melts in the mouth. We appreciated that it didn’t have fondant. The peach flavoring is very subtle. If you want something light for summer, though, this cake is just what you’re looking for.

Light and flufffy

We’ll be trying even more new treats in Disney World, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.
