Does Taylor Swift Have A Song In ‘Toy Story 5?’ Here’s What We Know

Earlier this month, Taylor Swift was rumored to be involved with Pixar’s upcoming film Toy Story 5. The singer’s website briefly changed to a countdown that looked exactly like Andy’s iconic cloud wallpaper from Toy Story. Except… the countdown didn’t lead to anything. No announcements were made that Taylor Swift was involved with the movie.

But now, the rumors are circulating yet again. Eagle-eyed Swifties are convinced that the singer is still involved with the project after a recent Toy Story 5 ad.

Disney Pixar posted a new ad on their social media today of toy cowgirl Jessie dancing in front of a new promotional billboard. We quickly noticed two things: one, the caption “She’s making those moves up as she goes” is a lyric from Taylor Swift’s hit “Shake It Off,” and two, the billboard has exactly 13 clouds, Swift’s lucky number.

While it’s likely that Swift is still connected to the project, no official announcements from Disney have been made. Rumors circulated that the singer was writing a song for the film, as she’s been a frequent singer for the silver screen, notably collaborating with Disney on “Crazier” for Hannah Montana: The Movie. In addition, Disney+ became the streaming home for her concert films Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour | The Final Show, along with her 2020 documentary Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions.

In a recent interview with London-based creator Shivani Khosla, Toy Story 5 director Andrew Stanton was asked about Swift’s involvement in the upcoming sequel. “It surprised us. What a freakin’ honor,” Stanton said of the rumors. “The sad truth is we watched the movie being mixed last week, and the song at the end was not Taylor Swift.”

So how could Taylor Swift be involved with the project if she didn’t write the ending song? It’s possible that the Toy Story 5 team used an older song of hers, like “Shake It Off,” or even that an original song of hers appears in the film, but isn’t during the end credits.

Fans have also theorized that Taylor Swift makes a cameo in the film. Disney announced last week that Puerto Rican rapper and actor Bad Bunny will make a cameo in the film as the character Pizza with Sunglasses. Considering the wide range of new toys with yet-to-be-announced voice actors, it’s still possible that Swift may make a cameo.
