Disneyland Resort just got tons of new snacks to celebrate the changes coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Galaxy’s Edge, to highlight the start of summer, and to mark the 4th of July, which is right around the corner.

You know what that means — we had to head into the park to try them all and bring you our full review! We grabbed six new items on this trip, but we’ll tell you now that, for the first time in a while, they ALL impressed us!
Starting out, we headed over to Royal Street Veranda to snag the two new items on the menu. To drink, we grabbed the New Orleans Mint Julep Float for $9.79, which is Mango Sorbet topped with Mint Julep.

The mango is the main flavor that comes through here, and then the mint comes in as almost an aftertaste. Once it melts a bit, you can really stir those two flavors together, which made things even better. Honestly, we enjoyed this more than the regular mint julep, which we often find too overpowering. It’s incredibly light and refreshing, doesn’t taste artificial at all, and we’re already looking forward to going back and grabbing it again!

We also grabbed the Cajun Caesar Chicken Po’Boy here for $12.99, which is Kale-Romaine Mix tossed with House-made Caesar Dressing, Cajun Chicken and Croutons on a French Roll.

It’s important to note here that the Cajun seasoning is in the Caesar dressing, not the chicken itself, and we LOVED that! In fact, we would have loved to ask for an extra cup of the dressing on the side, it was THAT fantastic. We loved the texture of it, especially with the croutons that add a bit of crunch, and while the chicken was moist and not dry in the slightest, we would have loved to have a bit more lettuce to bring a bit more of the freshness into the flavor. Despite that, we’d absolutely get it again!

Over at Docking Bay 7 in Galaxy’s Edge, we grabbed the Bounty Bun with Spiced Beef and Pork for $15.99, which is made with Tomato Chutney, Golden Aïoli, Sautéed Blue Onions.

Talk about a mix of flavors here, but they all work very well together! So much so that it was actually a little hard to pick them out individually. We could pinpoint cardamom and other earthy flavors, and while there’s a slight heat, it’s not overpowering. The meat is tender and cooked very well, and if you’re a bit more of an adventurous eater, we think this is a great one to try!

Also available here is the Adelphi Cheesy Noodles with Fried Chicken Tip-Yip for $18.99, which is made with with Pancetta, Toasted Herb Breadcrumbs, Sweet and Spicy Chili Sauce. If you’ve ever gotten the Chicken Tip-Yip and subbed the potatoes for mac and cheese, this is very similar, though you get more bang for your buck here. The flavors are good, but this is a VERY heavy meal, and we caution you on eating it on a hot, busy park day. The mac and cheese is super cheesy, we love the sweet and spicy chili sauce you get to squeeze on top, because it does add heat to the dish, so we appreciate that you can control how much of it you want. The chicken is solid, as pretty much always, with the spices and breading hitting the spot. It’s a solid meal, that’s for sure, but just expect to feel a little weighed down after!

Then, we moved onto Smokejumpers Grill at Disney California Adventure, where we grabbed the Red, White & Blue Punch for $7.79, which is Sprite® and White Cranberry Juice with Blue Raspberry & Cherry Syrups, topped with Cold Foam.

We’ll tell you right now — it’s picturesque when you get it and the colors are all separate, but if you want it to TASTE the best, you’ll want to stir it up. There’s some type of jam at the bottom that threw us off from the texture, so that was a bit of an unpleasant surprise, but the overall flavor here is almost exactly like one of those iconic firecracker popsicles. The Sprite and cranberry work really well together, but the cold foam on top did throw us off before we mixed it all together. It doesn’t look pretty when they all combine, but we think you’ll appreciate the flavor way more.

Willie’s Churros was the last stop on our list, where we grabbed the Apple Pie Churro for $7.50.

This one gives us both fun, summer vibes, while also giving us a cozy winter feel, so it’s got us a little confused. They were super generous with the caramel and apples, which we loved, and it was clear they were Granny Smith apples since you got a bit of that tart flavor (no complaints from us). The apples have cinnamon mixed in, which is was really gives us the autumnal feel, and the only thing keeping it “summer-y” is the tartness of the apples. The churro itself is also solid, both in flavor and texture, which is always a relief. We’d get this again, for sure, but don’t be expecting major summer vibes.

As always, we’ll be bringing you all the latest Disneyland news, so stay tuned to AllEars!
