This attraction will “put guests in the driver’s seat of the high-speed thrills of Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious universe like never before.” This coaster will have 360-degree drifting as you speed through “jaw-dropping maneuvers” like a 170-foot vertical spike that will shoot guests nearly 17 stories in the air.

This announcement comes after Universal previously teased the news on X with a very interesting video. The video featured the sound of a revving engine and a speedometer graphic, which led many fans to connect it to a high-speed theme park experience or roller coaster announcement, with a lot of speculation tied to Universal’s Fast & Furious franchise. It seems like we’re good guessers!

Fast and the Furious: Supercharged

This new attraction will be located at the home of the demolished Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster. Fans have been theorizing about what would replace the iconic attraction, and the theories can finally be put to rest! We recently got to check out some of the construction progress in this area, which seems to be coming along nicely.

The park’s current Fast and Furious: Supercharged attraction, which is infamously regarded as one of the park’s worst attractions, will be closing permanently in 2027 for the change. Over at Universal Studios Hollywood, they have been building their own version of the new Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift roller coaster — slated to open in 2026 — that will have innovative ride features such as drifting vehicles, launches, and inversions along the hills of the theme park’s Starway escalator. We love that we won’t have to travel across the country to try it out now!
