We got big construction news happening at Universal Orlando for you!

In August of this year, Universal Studios said goodbye to one of the park’s biggest roller coasters, the Rip Ride Rockit. The ride had been operating for 16 years. Since then, Universal has put construction walls up and has gone to work. New photos of the construction were just released, and we had to show you!
It’s wild to think about how much progress has been made on the removal of the ride itself and moving into the next phase of whatever is going to replace the popular roller coaster. Take a look at how much work has been done so far, thanks to the video from @bioreconstruct via X/Twitter.

The aerial footage shows a lot of dirt, construction machinery, as well as what looks to be a layout for what’s to come. This new ride that will be coming here is currently unknown, but we do know that it will be a new roller coaster!

Of course, fans are going to do what they always do when there is no word on what’s coming — theorize! Many people are speculating that it will be another thrill coaster to replace the attraction. Some fans have even speculated a Ghostbusters-themed attraction, while others have theorized a Fast and Furious coaster similar to what’s going on at Universal Hollywood.

We’re curious what the future of Fast and Furious Supercharged would be if they were to bring the Fast and Furious coaster to Orlando. We can’t imagine the park having two rides themed to the Fast and Furious franchise. Especially since this attraction doesn’t draw in a lot of guests. Hey, if you love it, then all power to you!

So much work has been done already. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future of this ride. We’ll be keeping an eye out for more news and construction updates. To make sure you’re staying up to date, follow us at AllEars!
