It’s a puuuuuuuuur-fect time to go over the rules of flying.

Recently, the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) shared an a-MEOW-zing story of kitty cat who had a romp through airport security — and yes, as someone who has been watching Disney films for over 30 years, it does sound like the plot of a madcap live-action Disney film from 1967 — as a reminder of their travel rules and approved “(p)etiquette.”
Accompanied by a screenshot of a message from the agency’s X (formerly Twitter account), which read “Litter box managers, please remind your cats that the automatic bin system might seem like a fun ride but 0/10 recommend”…
… the agency shared photos of an adorably unfazed cat loose in an X-Ray security apparatus at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
They accompanied the post with a caption that read, “Nothing hissssterical here! After a brief wrestling match with their human, a feisty feline escaped in security. Kudos to TSA officers at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, TX who rescued & returned Whiskers safely to their owner. Here’s a purrrr-fect travel reminder: If you believe your pet could make an escape attempt during security screening, ask to speak with a supervisor for alternative screening options.”
The cat’s escape happened during the security screening, when small pets are required to be removed from their carrier. The TSA’s official rule on small pets reads, “Please remove your pet from the carrying case and place the case through the X-ray machine. You should maintain control of your pet with a leash and remember to remove the leash when carrying your pet through the metal detector. Animal carriers will undergo a visual and/or physical inspection.”

Seems like that “maintain control” part didn’t work out too well this time, huh? Stay tuned to AllEars for more amusing travel stories!
