We’ve seen a lot of unique things on cruise ships, but this is different!

If you’ve taken a Disney Cruise before, you know they are top-tier when it comes to unique at-sea experiences! Even if you haven’t taken a cruise, you may have either heard or seen what they offer. Well, Norwegian Cruise Line has done something that has never been done before!
Check out the Norwegian Cruise Line’s new Aqua Slidecoaster; this thing is remarkable! It’s a combination of a rollercoaster and a waterslide. It reminds us a little bit of the Krakatau Aqua Coaster at Volcano Bay, but this new aqua coaster is still one of a kind.

This brand-new attraction is quite advanced, using a robotic arm to push guests on a blue inflatable upward through rushing water, according to USA Today. The thrilling ride is roughly 40 seconds long and is filled with all sorts of twists and turns, with both open and closed portions throughout the slide.

This attraction is aboard the Norwegian Aqua, the newest ship in the fleet. Other ships have go-kart tracks, but this one has an aquacoaster! Mark Kansley, Norwegian’s senior vice president of Hotel Operations, stated, “We wanted something that had never been done before on ships.” This led to the decision to switch it up from go-karts on the new ship. He also wanted the new line to have the “first” of something, something that “had never been done on before on ships.” Take a look at this video of the attraction!
The aquacoaster goes a thrilling 31 miles per hour! It is one of several new activities available to guests on the ship. There is a height and weight requirement for anyone looking to ride. The Norwegian Aqua’s maiden voyage launched on March 28th, 2025, and it’s exciting to see what more will come from Norwegian Cruise Line!
