This is a safe space. We won’t judge you if you own 10 or 100 Disney popcorn buckets. They’re a fun little souvenir to collect, and you get discounted popcorn — SCORE! But let’s be honest. Most of the time, these popcorn buckets sit empty on our shelves. What if we told you that we had the perfect place to take your Disney popcorn bucket, and it’s NOT in Disney World?

Instead, we’re heading to the movies! Thanks to a special promotion for National Popcorn Day, you can bring ANY popcorn bucket you want to the movies — even your old Disney souvenirs.
Cinemark Theatres just announced a new event for National Popcorn Day, which is January 19th if you don’t have the date circled, starred, and highlighted already on your calendar. Here’s how it works. Bring a bucket (which is a loose term; think of it more like a vessel), and Cinemark Theatres will fill it for just $5.
You bring it. We fill it. Only $5.
Join us on 1/19 aka NATIONAL POPCORN DAY and BYOB! ??

The rules are pretty lenient in terms of what counts as a bucket. If anyone is brave enough to bring a bucket hat to the movies…you win. Cinemark said, “Literally anything can be a bucket!” so feel free to get creative!

That said, we don’t recommend bringing a wheelbarrow to the movies. There’s a limit of up to 400oz, which is the equivalent of 2 XL popcorns. 2 XL popcorn for $5? Now THAT is a good deal!

If you need a little inspiration, you could dig up one of these bad boys…

…or even a character bucket! For all you Figment popcorn bucket owners, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to take Figment on another adventure. The last time he had this much fun was during the Festival of the Arts circa 2022. We will never forget it.

If you have a McDonald’s Boo Bucket, you can bring that to the movies, too! Like we said, GET CREATIVE!

The last time we got creative with our popcorn bucket was back in April when 7/11 had a “Bring Your Own Cup Day” event. Behold our MEGA Slurpee, courtesy of our trusty popcorn bucket! All that for $1.99. Not bad, eh?

Oh, and we also brought an old Disney princess cup because, duh. So we’re no strangers to reusing our Disney souvenirs!

Cinemark also shared that all gift card purchases will be 10% OFF (online only) on January 19th, so make sure to get allll the popcorn and score alllll the Popcorn Day deals. If you bring a Disney popcorn bucket to the movies, tag us on Instagram @allearsnet! We’d love to see your popcorn buckets out in the wild. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
