We’ve seen a lot of TV cancelations this year from multiple streaming services, and now we’ve got another one to add to the list.

This one’s a little different, though, because while it’s a sequel, it’s not a TV series. It’s just been announced that Apple’s Wolf 2 movie, which was set to star George Clooney and Brad Pitt, has now been canceled.
Variety confirmed that Apple is no longer moving forward to develop a sequel to the film Wolfs, which came out earlier this year. However, the cancelation didn’t come from Apple TV but from director Jon Watts himself.

The original Wolfs film followed George Clooney and Brad Pitt as “Two rival fixers [who] cross paths when they’re both called in to help cover up a prominent New York official’s misstep. Over one explosive night, they’ll have to set aside their petty grievances and their egos to finish the job.”

The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival in early September, and after its debut on Apple TV+, the streamer boasted that it was “the most viewed feature in the platform’s history.” Back in 2023, Clooney stated in an interview, “Brad and I made the deal to do that movie where we gave money back to make sure that we had a theatrical release.” Imagine their surprise when, in August, Apple announced they were pulling the plug on the theatrical release plan they had made with Sony, which caused Watts to no longer trust Apple as a creative partner, per Deadline.

In a recent interview where Watts was promoting his new series Skeleton Crew, Watts was questioned about what was next for him. He shared, “I don’t know what I’m directing next, and I don’t think there’s going to be a Wolfs sequel.” Since then, it’s been confirmed that sequel plans have currently been scrapped.
